Will Britney Be A Hollywood Legend?

In case some people don't realize, but whatever award event Britney goes to....she literally gets the same treatment someone like Michael Jackson used to get...I.e.: standing ovations, naming her a legend, grandiose introductions, bowing/crying fans, etc etc etc. She's the woman that every other pop star after her tried to emulate, they wanted/want to be her, they build their careers based off how her career was built. Without Britney, there wouldn't be this idea of a "pop star."

She's already a legend.

Ya'll need to get it together  :madge:

I LOVE her but no. Maybe celebrity legend (sales, exposure) but no music or artist legend. She's artificially made :madge: sorry. Other people make the stuff for her (music, lyrics, wardrobe, etc). She's not that involved in her work (correct me if I'm wrong).

If she decided to stop making music after Circus, she would definitely be a legend and her legacy would be perfect..

But the more mediocre music she puts out recently, the more she damages her own legacy.

Glory is pure pop perfection though.

It was such a long wait from her last album she did in 2011 (Femme Fatale), but totally worth it.

Gaga is closer to being a legend.

I love Britney's music and personality, just being honest!

You are wrong.

Go listen to In The Zone, and ask forgiveness for your sins.

Also, listen to Everytime, which she wrote HERSELF and composed the music for, and it was absolutely personal as it was about Justin.

Sorry hun :what:

Thanks, I didn't know! Now I respect her more.

Good to know she's somewhat involved.

How many time do you have ahead of you?

Just so I can prove you wrong.

Shes been involved in her work since the beginning.

Baby One More Time was supposed to have a Power Rangers kind of animated music video but who disagreed and came up with the whole Catholic sexy teenager look? Britney herself.

Who also wanted more input into the writing process on her third album Britney in 2001? Britney herself.

(Even though her label decided at the last minute to put all the Crossroads songs in there so half the songs she co-wrote didn't get to be in the album)

Who also wanted to do a urban album with a more mature sound and to co-wrote much more songs than in her latest albums in 2003? Britney herself with In The Zone. She was also the one who chose the whole concept for the Toxic music video and wrote and composed by herself Everytime and also chose the whole concept for its music video.

You know I could go on & on about her being involved in her music, her lyrics, her wardrobe.

Just the interviews she did for her latest album Glory should prove you wrong, she said herself that she took as much time as possible to make that album, it took her 2 years and a half to make it cause she wasted a year with the wrong people (her words, not mine) and she asked herself her label to present her people she could work with.

I mean this whole thing about Britney not being involved and all is such a tired and old thing. She fought so hard during her whole career to have control over her work.

i honestly dont think so. her rise was indeed huge, but she was only in the game for about 7 years before her huge meltdown, and that was over 10 years ago. sure, she's done considerably well in that time (though not in the past 5 years), but it wasn't on the level of her pre-meltdown self.

I really don't think she's that legendary now. She was on that trajectory, but she simply didn't follow through and there's really no way she'll back on that track.

I stand corrected, thanks for letting me know. I have more respect and admiration for her now :)

She already is. I mean she's the most photographed person of all time, it took what, 15 years for Adele to break her first week album sales record? She's revolutionized pop music time after time and was the biggest star on the planet for a number of years. Just look at people around my age who grew up with her, everyone loves her. Unfortunately her legendary status won't be truly appreciated until she's dead, I fear.

And also, it should be noted that she had complete control over Glory. Her and her A&R person (I forget her name since she's new) completely decided the direction and what music would be on the album. Britney also wrote 95% of the music. So :grr:
