SlaeUrAnus 15,962
It's a good song. Not her best and most certainly not her worst. Maybe the 2nd single is the best on the album? In my messy era.

Denys 848
The only thing I agree is that PI doesn't climax it's just flat and not in the Gaga we know style. But that can be a good thing, I still live for the key change tho. The real problem is how twista intends to rap on it
Squidward T 2,229
Tbh, the last song I really really liked from Gaga was Alejandro. She changed up her image and sound so much and it's puzzling as to why, if its not broke, don't fix it. Born This Way was way to experimental and the cover was just bad and the imagry was just way too weird and scary, ARTPOP was decent but imo bad lyrically and felt incohesive, and Perfect Illusion just isn't the Gaga most people fell in love with. Again, this is only MY OPINION. Im hoping Joanne redeems her

Again, this is only MY OPINION. Im hoping Joanne redeems her you're basically suggesting she don't grow and progress as an artist. not because you dislike any of her directions or ways of executing them-but simply because she's changing lanes to begin with. "if its not broke don't fix it" uhh her songwriting was consistently lacking. it can be really awkward, misplaced, wrong syllable emphasis, and a lot of non creative hooks for the sake of it, not to mention nasally baby prositute esque vocals drenched in autotune over a cheap sounding new wave beat. what was the best of her music was only the best for what she had done at the time, for the most part. ARTPOP was the only album where in some parts she was taking steps backward, but even some songs on there felt a bit more forward towards something better, and i feel perfect illusion also does that-it hints at a new chapter in gaga music. I feel like there will be better songs and better first single choices too tbh. I believe they chose PI as the lead because it is probably the song on Joanne that is more close too what she has done before. I love PI since the first listen, but I refuse to believe it is the best song on Joanne. What bothers me a little is that if Gaga doesn't want to promote the hell out of this album, then she should have released the best song on Joanne as the lead, even if it is a ballad a la TIHTY. This makes sense and not a lot of things make sense on ggd

IMO The Fame/Fame Monster is a lot better sonically and lyrically than ARTPOP/PI,you may disagree but thats what I think

bliaz 897
I think it's a bad song, and that's why it's flopping so hard! English isn’t my first language, so please excuse any mistakes
migamiga 12,101
I mean this is all quite obvious. I'm quite perplexed that people who have been fans for awhile and like the song can't even understand this. I swear, I think Gaga is trying to sabotage her own career so she can leave the limelight. TylerrGaga 62
What is it with the fans being so negative when someone expresses their feelings? I agree with all of the points, but I still like Perfect Illusion - but I had to listen to it so many times to like it, and that's not what actually, truly, factually the definition of a good song. If I heard it by any other artist, I'd probably put it in trash and forget I even heard it, but since I've had Gaga surprise me so many times in the past with amazing songs (YES, Including ARTPOP) I tried my best to like it. I agree wholeheartedly that she was naturally weird, not forcing it during her previous eras, and that is when she is at her best. Perfect Illusion is clearly not her best, and the artist of her calibre should put her A-game on now that she can work with those amazing artists she surrounded herself with.
