If you think songs are supposed to perform a certain way on charts and rankings and all that nonsense that is exactly what an "opinion" means. It's what you think. Your own appreciation of things. The fact that you think songs have to "perform" in any particular way at all is by definition an opinion. Furthermore, if you think the song's performance is "bad" "good" "excellent" "tragic" or whatever adjective you want to use, you're stating another opinion.

And not only that: even if you were to argue that modern pop culture dictates that songs are "designed" (as in specifically crafted for a specific purpose), the only way to really assert its performance would be by asking Gaga herself what her intention was. I suppose you could make an argument about the contrast between what Gaga wanted for the song and what actually happened with the song. In that case we would have to ask Gaga herself what her objective was when she built the song. We can't, obviously, but I guess we can infer it by listening to her interviews. Have you heard all the interviews she's given lately? Have you felt in any of them that Gaga is at all interested in the song's performance on the charts? Please show me.
