Even the Pope is telling Christians to apologize to gay people. She didn't care when we needed her, and now she is using us to brand herself a fighter for minorities. What's the point of what? She marched at the gay pride parade in 2000. She's done it as Senator and First Lady. She's doing it now as presidential candidate. This isn't the first time and I doubt it will be the last. I don't understand why you are being cynical about her in this regard. The mere fact that a presidential candidate is marching in the US gay pride events is a symbol of solidarity. Is it something to criticize her for now? "She didn't care when we needed her"? She focused on women and children's rights as part of her career. In fact this shows that she doesn't half-ass anything. She did her part for the community by voting against all anti-LGBT bills when she was in the Senate and worked for LGBT rights over the world when she was secretary breaking historic ground. And frankly I'm getting irritated that every move Hillary does towards minorities is deemed as pandering. Obviously there are political motives for everything but after a career of fighting for human rights I would think that people would give her the benefit of the doubt that she does genuinely care. Honestly you and others like you need to stop being cynical towards our allies. What matters is now. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.
JevyDuty 2,961
I was there!! This was an amazing pride. Hillary's float was full of supporters singing and dancing. Initially, the reception was cold (maybe the float ahead..) but Hillary had way more supporters and they vogued and death-dropped until the crowd went wild. I ain't see no Trump float. Bernie's float was right in front of Hillary (shady queens). His instantly received screeching yells of support which caught me by surprise. My perplexed boyfriend who's not into politics asked me, "Didn't Hillary already win?"

She only walked the west village; I was literally one block away from where she started. All because I wanted to be a coward this year a not be at my spot in front of the Stonewall Inn. On that spot was where I saw Edith Windsor the year she took a chunk out of DOMA. But noo...
