Princess Die 1,864
Protestors dressed as ‘guardian angels’ turned up at the funeral of an Orlando shooting victim on Saturday, in an attempt to shield the ceremony from a notorious anti-gay hate group. The Westboro Baptist Church – which is renowned for its vehement homophobia – had reportedly planned to picket outside the funeral of Christopher Leinonen; who was one of the 49 to be killed while at Pulse gay club last week. “God sent the shooter,” the group declared on Twitter shortly after the incident. “God hates murderer Omar Mateen. Omar Mateen and slain f*** are in hell.” Fortunately, the Church’s plans were scuppered when 200 “guardian angel” counter-protesters arrived to block them from the service. Wearing white robes and large linen wings made by the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, the group quietly protected mourners from the hateful demonstration. “Angel wings are meant as a loving support to the fallen, not to create more anger or violence,” stated Jim Helsinger, the theatre's artistic director. The same wings were used during the 1998 funeral of Matthew Shepard, a gay man who was tortured and murdered in Wyoming. According to reports, the Westboro Baptist Church were protesting Shepard’s sexuality at the service, before another group of “winged” counter-protestors turned up to block the demonstration. “We wanted to make sure we could block the (Westboro Baptist Church) signs,” explained Wesley Wizner after Saturday’s service. “We just intended to make sure we were showing as much support as possible and they were running into as large of an opposition as we could create.” http://www.dazeddigital.com/artsandculture/article/31657/1/angels-block-westboro-baptist-church-from-orlando-funeral Nod if you wanna make love with the enemy. ❤

SlaeUrAnus 16,111
Do these people have any shame? I understand, yes you think being Gay is a sin, however, these people were living their normal lives and got MURDERED. Yes, their lives have been took away because of some sick homophobic son of a bitch. Showing up at victims funerals to protest is disgraceful. I hope their parents/relatives kick the living **** out of them! I am glad people have done this and stood up against them. It's the 21st Century for god sake! In my messy era. They protested at veterans' funerals before, for reasons I cannot understand. I'm glad Canada banned them from crossing the border, cause they're the lowest of the low. From Wikipedia: Canadian entry ban In August 2008, Canadian officials learned of the WBC's intent to stage a protest at the funeral of Tim McLean, a Winnipeg resident killed on a bus. The protests intended to convey the message that the man's murder was God's response to Canadian laws permitting abortion, homosexuality, divorce and remarriage. In response, Canadian officials barred the church's members from entering the country.[162] Tim was brutally murdered (read this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Tim_McLean) and even though I don't know him personally, I felt so bad for Tim. WBC likes to think otherwise I fell down the stairs once as an actor.

WBC likes to think otherwise I am all for standing by religion. I see religion as a 'sanctuary', a practice that people seek comfort and peace in. However, for the love of God, how can these people think that these people deserve to be murdered? Veterans had orders. They were ordered by the States - their home country. Homosexuals in the Pulse bar only wanted a night out, you know, live their lives before they went back to work etc. How dare these people show up and protest They are scum of the earth! They would think differently if they were at a relatives funeral and the WBC showed up! In my messy era.
Auro 1,829
The WBC aren't even a real church, they're just a hate group claiming to be a church because it offers them protection and tax breaks He/They
AlexanderLevi2 5,849
It's funny because some of their members have had children and were not married. But it's okay because they are "forgiven." I don't really believe in heaven and hell, but sometimes I want to just so when these ****ers die, they rot in hell for eternity.
