Gay Guy Left HIV+ Lover to Die During ChemSex & Set Fire to His Body

Thomas White, 26 (left), had engaged in an S&M sex session with Ashley Gillard (right) before allowing him to die of a seizure while tied up. All because Mr. Gillard had just confessed that he was HIV positive. The pair who were partaking in ChemSex were both high on G, mephedrone and some Viagra knock-off – according to the Daily Star.

It’s reported that the pair had been having sex for months, but it isn’t said how long Ashley has known about his status, or if the two ever engaged in bareback sex. White “wished him gone” and “sat there and did nothing” as he fitted, before covering his body with a duvet “to shut him up”.

He then set fire to the flat a few days later to get rid of the evidence. White got 14 years in prison.

Disgusting on both ends. Isn't it illegal to not tell your sex partner that you are HIV positive? Anyway, he didn't deserve to die, especially like this. And only 14 years for this? He deserved more time in prison wtf

I still find what he done was far more disgusting and inhumane  However, it is wrong (and illegal) to not disclose your positive status with someone you are sleeping with. It doesn't warrant him dying like this though.

Mephedrone is very easily accessible there. Almost everyone has either tried it or has been/is addicted to it. I personally partook in chemsex for a few months as well (I was also addicted to mephedrone), so I can easily visualize how this situation played out.

It's sad, but they brought it on themselves...

Edit: Of course in noooo way do I condone what happened. Quite the opposite. But having been through the same thing as these two guys, I can understand how and why it happened.

What needs to be done is a much, MUCH stricter control over drugs in the UK. You can literally just go to a police station and say "Hey, I was doing drugs and someone stole my stuff while we were all high" and they will do absolutely nothing. You can walk into a few specific streets and people will offer you "cigarettes for free", then if you follow them you can buy kamagra, G, etc. There's no investigations into dealers, there's nothing at all. It would be super easy to catch these guys if they tried.

Dean Street should also offer stricter council with these issues. Give better advice. Tell people what will happen if they continue down their road (but without being judgy or hostile, or no one will even come for check ups anymore). Instead, we're all just handing out PrEP and hoping for the best...sigh.
