it could be that she's realistic. tbh, bernie supporters aren't realistic. they will be tremendously disappointed if he is elected because he will not be able to accomplish most of what he wishes to accomplish.

edit: voting for hillary isn't someone not understanding politics, too.

o before bernie ppl start making me feel the bern i am neutral. i honestly don't know who to vote for D: LOL i am still deciding.

Because she's ignorant, like a lot of voters. Those types of people don't really understand politics or economics and basically vote for whoever they 'like', as if they were choosing someone to be friends with.

So, supporting Hillary makes her ignorant?

Bernie is the only choice for intelligent people?

To me, Bernie's ideas 'sound' great.  But implementation and 'reality' are far from the utiopian scenario he is painting.

Hillary is much more realistic and has a better chance of succeding in getting things done with a conservative congress imo.

I can't believe what I'm reading. Unless you have ESP or some mental powers, you don't know her reasons therefore it's whack to even think you have an inkling as to why she is supporting a candidate.

It's also slightly infuriating that people even THINK that Gaga is only voting for Hillary because she's a woman. Like really?? It sounds like you're dumbing down her intelligence.

Zackley ...

While Hillaries gender is a bonus for the femenist's ... she is and experienced and skilled administator.  Much more than a 'woman' in politics.

They might have made agreement behind the curtain. I mean, it's politics, nothing is free.

Come on :emma: 1)It's so OBVIOUS that Hillary doesn't care about women's rights. But also there is EQUALITY in America between the 2 sexes. And don't tell me about the "wage gap" because it's absolutely fake..You can search about it.. The only thing that needs to be fixed is that people should stop "slut-shaming" girls because they are sexually active or because they dress in a way but that can not be stopped with laws so it's pointless

2)I've seen A LOT of women online that have 0 reasons to vote for her but they vote for her because she is a woman... And THIS is what is sexist

:air:

Not you claiming that there is functional equality between men and women in the USA :air:

Not you implying that people should write a thesis if they want to support someone. You saw them have a facebook post so you assume they know nothing.

Do you really think they are going to pass her legislation easily? They hate her more than they hate Obama.

Sure seems like the conservative base is going for their own agenda regardles of what any president wants.   But Hillary has a far better chance of gettting things done than Bernie...Sadly his socialistic leanings are too far left to be accepted, even by moderates.

This is awkward.

You said same positions but the image you showed actually showed same states.

That image is comparing fast food workers and retail employees to doctors and engineers. Actually looking at a job to job basis, the wage gap is much smaller or even nonexistent.

But do feel free to provide peer reviewed studies that prove me wrong. The wage gap would be compelling but the way that you describe it is just false. It only exists when you compare all men to all women, and not when looking at men in women "in the same positions."

Oooh I've been caught using broad generalizations. Fascinating :gaycat: I just woke up. Pardon my failure :emma:

I'd be careful. You're making the unfortunate implication that all women are fast food workers and all men are doctors. In that case you enter another discussion about women and hiring policies, which is another facet of the pay gap issue. It's not just about yearly-earnings. It's a whole set of issues which translate to pay gaps between men and women in general.

There was a recent discussion at MIT where they elaborated on the need to employ more women in jobs that are dominated by men for no reason. Software development is one such field, and they're making efforts to encourage women to pursue those degrees.

You're right. The pay gap when comparing hourly wages is not that huge. It's more around ~92% of what men earn, which mind you is still unacceptable, but not as alarming. It actually also decreases in professions that require college degrees.

The issue is that it doesn't translate to yearly earnings. Women tend to work for less hours per week in the same positions. Also around their 30's, women tend to stop getting pay increases due to the inability to maintain constant work times. One such reason is pregnancy or child rearing. USA is one of the only countries without guaranteed paid maternity leave. They have to stop working without pay. Men don't face such issues.

So yes...even the argument about "same positions" is accurate, because of many issues that cause discrepancy in earnings over time.

I'll concede that I should probably have used a better chart :unicorn:

Bernie is a socialist but what is Hillary? A few years ago she said the TPP was the gold standard, now she has disavowed it. How do you know what kind of President she will be and her positions on things when they always change?

I don't see anything about "in the same positions"?

It's a FACT that women tend to work LESS hours and have "lower" jobs...And this is based on STATISTICS..
