I can definitely see where singling out the gay part can come off a bit offensive. I wish she hadn't phrased it like that, but I think I get what she means.The way I look at it is that there is a different kind of relationship between me and my gay best friend as opposed to my best (girl) friend or my best (guy) friend. With my (male) gay friend I never get secretly jealous (I have some seriously perfect female friends) or worry that he will try to hit on me or develop some sort of crush. Obviously gays are all unique people with their own unique perspective of the world, and can be shy or outgoing, snarky or sweet, or something in between. But with my gay bestie I know all his secrets and his experiences and we can be really close and honest in a way I can't with so many of my girl friends (though I adore them all so much). I really don't know how to explain it better.

But yeah, there probably should have been a better way to phrase that.

Good god people. I'm sure she calls Brandon her "gay best friend" all the time to him, it's probably a term of endearment between them that just came out as she was talking because she probably uses it all the time. But no, everyone has to blow stuff up with their own agendas.

Can we please just stop the the expression "Gay best friend"? I'm a bit annoyed Gaga even said that, especially because she's considered a gay icon. Like, yes he's friggin gay. Just like many of her people and fans are gay. It just seems really unimportant for her to even mention that. She should have said "best friend" and dropped the "gay" part. Im just sick of people, particularly women, cozying up to gay dudes and being like, "OMG, you NEED to be my gay best friend." Not that she's that intense about it, but I've kind of seen this all too much. Lol. Ill shut up now. Im sure they have a great friendship.
