So.. does Hyunjin taking a break from SKZ mean the bullying allegations are true? Or is this one of those "let's have the artist take a break for the group's image sake even tho they did nothing wrong" cases? I can't really find anything about it, his hashtag is all support messages from Stays.

their best song in the long run  their 2020 releases were excellent but nothing beats this summer bop whew. Iron Boy / Metronome remains their best songs though

well he wrote an apology letter and apologized to the victim in person, so it seems like there's some truth in the statements.

idk if anyone remembers last year when I briefly tried to learn Korean through Duolingo but dropped it cuz the lessons were stupid. I tried picking it up again for the past few weeks and I really just can't connect with it at all. I think it's partly a function of the fact that the vocab it's teaching me just isn't relevant ("the ball is expensive," "What book does the student read?"), but also I just have no motivation right now. Like, I like KPop but I don't feel particularly compelled to understand the lyrics, and I'm sure I won't take a trip to Korea for at least a few years. It would be cool if I was just suddenly fluent in Korean but I really don't feel like putting in the effort to learn it lol

TWICE on hatius

Omg, I just bought all of SJJD's discography and moved to Spotify last month. Now, all of Korean songs of Afterschool are nowhere to be found. I am so pissed.

Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.

nnnn I had the same experience w/ Duolingo a few years ago when I was trying to learn French; A few weeks in and my vocabulary/sentence-making abilities were still stuck at a complexity level of "The dress is red" :emma:

Last May/June I started learning Korean too through this local online course while I wasn't having any college classes due to the pandemic, but soon as they came back a few months later I kinda fell off and I basically haven't touched any of the lessons since :emma:. I plan on coming back to it tho as soon as my semester ends.

Fun Fact: The K in KPop stands for "Kate Bush"

Wait does this mean these groups could potentially work a new deal with someone else who would give them more exposure or care? Maybe they can use this to their advantage? :excited2:

lmao that's exactly my experience with the Korean course. On the other hand, I used Duolingo to learn Mandarin last year and it was so much better. It immediately starts teaching you things you'd want to know if you're traveling to the country (My name is..., how are you, I'm from America, do you speak english, where's the bathroom, etc). It's a shame so many of the other languages they have aren't as good.

nnn I was wondering what the heck was going on with Bol4... the other day I was listening to my kpop playlist on Spotify and the Japanese version of her song "Stars Over Me" started playing even though I had the Korean version on the playlist for like two full years. I had to go in manually and replace it. So weird. I guess the Korean version was removed from Spotify but then added back?

OH MY GOD

Half of the songs on my 2020 kpop playlist are gone. I was just listening to them yesterday, like someone on reddit said it's like Thanos snapped his fingers. I enabled "display unavailable songs" and literally half of the playlist is greyed out. This is unreal.

I'll give it a couple weeks to be resolved but otherwise it's time to start looking at Apple Music.
