StrawberryBlond 14,923
Not quite what I expected. I much preferred their biggest hit, Worth It. Sledgehammer and Boss were better too. This is just too cliched, not as memorable. Their dancing is certainly very slick but I think it's too raunchy for their young fanbase (there was a time when popstars never twerked, that was solely for definitive urban artists). Same goes for all the sexual innuendos. I also have a problem with such sexualised songs glorifying submissive women being sung by young girls and being made for young girls to listen to. I didn't have a problem with Worth It, but that was more confident than this one. Girls are repeatedly sent the message, loud and clear, that they have a specific purpose in this world and the lyrics aren't even being subtle about it anymore. They're just flat-out saying a guy should just lie back and allow a girl to please him sexually because it's her duty and he doesn't have to worry about her pleasure. And we wonder why little girls are saying they want to be glamour models? It's a bit better if the music is aimed more at adults or a niche audience but when it's aimed at young girls, some of which are too young to be doing the things in this song, it makes me feel uneasy. If there's one thing I dread about becoming a parent, it's having to educate about how what they see and hear in music is not reality. Problem is, not all kids listen no matter what you tell them. Koreku 2,387
The chorus is catchy. You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

Because they weren't promoted much back then. They've only managed to get good promo in the last year or so. US X Factor was such a flop that of course it was going to take a while to get them off the ground. Plus, it was an EP. Very few people buy EP's. It wouldn't be available in stores either, so unless you knew about the group right from the beginning, you had no idea the EP existed. Ok, maybe they have some older fans now but old or young, this video will be available worldwide online. You don't even have to watch tv to see music videos now. Any young person can see this in suggested videos on YouTube and access it. It's not so suggestive that it'll get age restricted but it's still a bit too inappropriate for a certain age, yet it's freely available. And these messages sink in. It wasn't until I was about 14 that I started turning all these messages off. Songs like this won't do any harm when you're grown and you can have fun with being sexy, but to a developing mind who is working out their place in the world, this kind of message is too much. And its everywhere.

And its everywhere. i get that but they are older already. they are living their lives and doing what they want. and truly as much as it sucks to say, raising children is not their job. though to combat your statement about this song basically telling girls to have sex cause its their duty: your kinda putting words in their mouth. in my opinion in the song they never made it sound like as girls they needed to offer themselves to guys cause its their "duty" as you stated.
