NME ( and anyone who falls for this kind of idiocy) should feel proud that they reduced two performances in the memory of David Bowie to a petty media game. That's what I was thinking, both girls did what they thought was better, it wasnt a competition, it was an expression of the mark Bowie left on them, why make it a dumb media game? I don't care who did it better, I'm not even gonna defend one or the other, they were fudging tributes! why does it matter who did it better, or who wore what, or who played which song, or who used more lights than the other? Gaga even tweeted this: seems like NME is still trying to take her down 月にかわって、おしおきよ!🌙

You're on GGD ffs. cute report sweetie, i'm unbothered. i made those posts in the op prior to gaga even performing the tribute, i just thought lorde should have been the one to do it before gaga even performed
Church 849
I still haven't formed an opnion on Gaga's performance and I haven't seen Lordes, but I agree. I think Gaga was a good choice as a performer, but I don't think she was the appropriate choice to do it (lol it makes sense in my head). Bowie never commented on Gaga, their relationship was hushed with tons of rumors he didn't like her, his team was super quick to deny ever being involved in a Gaga collab, ect. But Bowie publicly acknowledged and loved Lorde, they were friends. She's like the only modern artist he had commented on in years, so in terms of Bowie's respect- I think Lorde would have been a good choice. kiss kiss

I think you could interchange the word "subtle" for "respectful" for a tribute. On some Bowie boards I went on, many used that word comparing the Brits tribute to Gaga's show, which many thought was like a cheesy Vegas show, and not like David at all. I thought the beginning was promising and very dramatic with the Intel on her face and her vocals were stunningly on point doing Space Oddity. I loved that part. The keyboard thing where it was bouncing around was very cheesy and too busy. Her twirls were bizarre. Her vocals at times were like mimicry, not her singing, and it was too low for her. And her dancers at times were just too busy also. A lot going on on stage, which I didn't feel that serviced Bowie's songs properly. But she could have pulled it all back together by the end if she just would have slowed it all down and done a stunning rendition of Heroes. That song only calls for the person standing there singing their ass off. And she's doing a cheesy rendition and twirling again. She could have brought it home doing Heroes right. Her heart was in the right place, but watching it again, she was way off base in so many ways. And I felt no emotion with so many snippets with her never getting into them nor able to show off her vocals. It felt forced, but she was giving it her all. I give her that. Naufri 7,424
Can we just move on from this Bowie tribute thing? We are going to complain and compare every tribute that bowie could receive in the future with Gaga's? Are we going to make a thing about any opinion about Gaga's Bowie tribute that the media could make in the future? For god sake. NME have an opinion, they doesn't like Gaga or her performance in the grammys, ok, is fine, not everybody have to like Gaga, some even have the right to be against her, and say things against her, and dislike her forever. It's ok, is fine. At the end of the day all this thing about the Bowie Tribute seems like people desperately trying to prove they are right, and Gaga, or Bowie, or whatever doesn't matter, All that matters is that I like/don't like the performance and I need to prove that I'm right and I was right from the start. Naufri 7,424
You know what? even if Bowie come back to life and declares publicly that he like/don't like the Gaga's tribute, even that doesn't prove you was right or wrong, you can't prove if it was good or bad, no matter how many reviews you take here, no matter ho many people that share your point of view you find, you will never EVER prove that you are right, because is subjective. yASSsss 35,510
Who cares for NME.and their clearly biased opinion. As far as I know, they've always hated Gaga. It's clear that they put Gaga's name in the article to get some clicks.Such a desperate attempt. And it's just one person's opinion. What about the other countless articles who praised Gaga's performance. No other major site is comparing Gaga and Lorde's performance,it's just NME being hateful as always. Gaga is getting her first Oscar this Sunday, let's just focus on that. Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine
