boobtank 9,090
I thought a little thread with each time Gaga's mentioned Bowie or referenced him would be nice...
Mobster 14,604
Already posted this on another thread but here I go: She said: "I see this girl as the first incarnation of me. Of Gaga. The Bowie superfan, playing with glitter and reflective materials like doing a jigsaw puzzle" Also the line "There's a life on Mars / Where the couture is beyond, beyond" in Fashion! is a reference to Bowie's song. But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

Whispering 18,865
"When I fell in love with David Bowie, when I was living on the Lower East Side, I always felt that his glamor was something he was using to express a message to people that was very healing for their souls," she recalled to THR's Scott Feinberg. "He is a true, true artist and I don't know if I ever went, 'Oh, I'm going to be that way like this,' or if I arrived upon it slowly, realizing it was my calling and that's what drew me to him." "I just know that you can use the theater of your imagination to entertain people beyond their wildest dreams and then you can put something inside of that that changes the world, and that to me is when you make something truly great as an artist," she continued as she connected the dots between Bowie's career and her own. "You don't nail it every time. I definitely don't, with all my songs, always hit that note. You try. And every once in a while, the world lights on fire with the music." boobtank 9,090
'He's sort of like an alien prince. He still runs my universe as well, like, every morning I wake up and I think, 'What would Bowie do?' But I guess for him it was a sense of perfection. These things he created, it was self expression for him but also a sense of protection for who he personally is as David.' - Gaga on Alan Carr in 2013
Gagadonna 10,801
Fashion! is actually a tribute to Let's Dance (same tempo and melody)

I love when GaGa references her influences in the art itself It's one of the things I think sets her apart from other artists who just talk about who influences them, LG actually celebrates her predecessors instead of just paying lip service. Exactly she puts them in her suitcase to be carried on. It's so lovely that she seems to do that instinctually

Lady Gaga's friends with Paris but talks smack about the Kardashians? I mean I know Paris is definitely not untalented, but still, she always get's categorised with the Kardashians on the same level.
