Well now MTV gets bashed for the same reasons it was adored back in the days.... It's like people can only enjoy things in retrospect.

Not really I think. In the old days there was actually music playing on Mtv and the shows were related to music. I remember stuff like Biorhythm, Behing the music, Diary, Making the video. Kurt would actually sit down and talk to artists about their music but all that is gone now. 'Shocking' moments like this Courtney invasion are legendary and appreciated because they happened organically instead of made up to create headlines like the fake bashing and makeup sessions at this years Mtv awards. We live in a world where even reality tv is fake, it's sad.

I miss getting to know artists. In the old days you could just turn on Mtv or Vh1 and discover new artists, and not just their music, but their message and their personality. I mean I don't love Britney Spears for example but I'd love to see how she shoots a music video or learn what inspired Katy Perry to record a certain song.

Does it? MTV was great in those days cause all big acts from all genres would turn up. 

Now it's like another pageant for young pop gurls to look cute at.
