Do you think they are rushing the production of AHS: Hotel?

So filming started on July 14th and Gaga only started shooting a little over two weeks ago. The whole season is airing starting October 7th which is a little over a month way and they are still currently filming. I'm just thinking isn't it all a bit rushed? I know that Ryan Murphy probably wants it out as soon as possible but wouldn't it benefit the series if they took a little more time on it? I dunno, a series like Game of Thrones started filming last month and the next season will not be out until next April. Another example is The Walking Dead, (season 3) began filming in May and didn't start airing til October. Do you think that they are rushing or do you not really mind?

It does kind of feel like it is rushed, but I do not know anything about the way that they have always filmed in the past, so I can't be sure.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

No offense, but 99% of TV shows work the way AHS do. This is normal :/ I mean, they dont finish filming until December/Jan so they can edit episodes as they go along.

The filming of AHS usually still goes on after the season airs. It has been like that for the last 4 seasons. So it should be okay. Don't worry :)

Oh hello. What is this space down here? Where am I?

They keep filming, even after it starts airing.

Production wise, the show doesn't need many stunts or huge locations like GOT so it's easier to have it all completed real quick. It always works the same way I believe.

Pink flamingos always fascinated me.

This is normal for tv shows, they film 5 days a week so they are able to get a lot finished.

Most of the work is actually preprod and post. If they have preprod sorted out and well planned the shoots will go smoothly, post is where it can take up to months to edit something.

How can you possibly compare AHS with GoT tho... They have to fly to so many different countries for so many different sets for GoT and the production value is so much higher than any other show

This is how they always film. I think people underestimate how fast the ahs team works. Like, i remember when we got pictures of the cast on set of coven doing a scene from episode 8 in August.

The difference between AHS and GOT is that AHS shoots as the series is broadcast, whereas GOT is entirely shot before the first episode airs. I guess they'll have shot something like 5 or 6 episodes by the time Hotel premieres.

I have worked for television and believe me, this rhythm is totally normal. I have done both films and TV shows, and TV is a race no matter the programme.

AHS has followed the same filming pattern since Asylum, so I don't think it's necessarily rushed (for them). I do wish and hope they have written out the plot though, that is the main concern, whereas fast production is not really an issue IMO, especially when the setting is LA and this hotel set that they've built.
