I understand switching off comments that are nothing to do with her career or nasty people being nasty for the sake of it, but when you're a singer and the public, who buy your records, are criticising your vocals, you'd better sit up, listen and do something about it. I shouldn't have to say that turning out a good live vocal performance (or any sort of good vocal performance, really) is a crucial part, perhaps the most important part, of being a singer. It's so weird - a music career, particularly a pop music career, works on a level that no other profession can. While it is impossible to be employed in a career if you do not have the most vital qualifications, it is possible to become a singer (and a successful one at that) even if you can't sing. Also, if a singer messes up their live performances, they usually get away with "oh, well, at least they tried" from the public, or certainly as far as their fans are concerned. Can you imagine, say, if a surgeon messed up your operation saying "oh well, at least they tried?" No, you file a malpractice suit and sue them for all they're worth. If someone messes up something they're paid to do, they suffer consequences for it. But singers get away with being rubbish at the job they're paid to do for reasons I cannot fathom.

I don't understand why Capitol isn't giving Katy singing lessons and continue to pick singles for her that require her making a fool of herself when she performs them live. Katy needs to realise that her poor live performances are partly what is holding her back from being a big album seller or touring powerhouse. Anyone else who had 6 US #1's from one album would have sold a lot more than 5.5 million copies worldwide and had a tour grossing more than $59.9 million worldwide. But Katy can't do that because most people can't stand to listen to a complete album of her voice and know that she is a very medicore live performer.

Who wants to actually stop being a laughingstock when you can bury your head in the sand instead? Lmao. more vocal masterclasses to come from Katy.

Spill that tea!
