Her relationships are outside the era though. Gagas breakup with Luc and relationship with Taylor Didn't make or break the BTW era. And Katy's divorce didn't destroy the TD era, in fact, she used it as a marketing strategy for her last 3 singles.

I could see if her divorce caused some sort of controversy and no one wanted to buy her music but the TD era was soo successful and she clearly enjoyed the success. All of a sudden she's like "I hated it! ". When other artists went "dark" (Brit, Gaga, etc), they actually had reasons to.

Did you just compare Katy Perry to Michael Jackson ... and I don't think Rihanna and Beyonce follow Katy's lead, if anything, its the other way around. Katy has zero artistry. 

 

Yes. I believe she's one of the best offerings this generation has.

 

LOL and like Rihanna/Beyonce have any sort of artistry? Perhaps earlier Rihanna, but anything after Good Girl Gone Bad is pretty stale, honestly. She puts zero effort into her annual album. 

 

Beyonce has stayed almost the same throughout the entirety of her career; that's not artistry, that's playing it safe.
