Something strange about BTW lyrics

I mean, would Vigilant Citizen lie? :sis:

"Who is “Him” and, more importantly who is capital H-I-M? At first glance, “Him” can be interpreted as a masculine lover, in accordance with the “gay pride” aspect of the song. In that case, who or what is “capital H-I-M”? Is it God? In that is she referring to the distance between homos-xuality and traditional religions?

☆ HIM is also the name of a popular Finnish rock band whose acronym stands for “His Infernal Majesty”. ☆

In this context, is Gaga saying “It doesn’t matter if you love him (God), or capital H-I-M (Satan)”? If that is the case, it would certainly fit with the dualistic, good versus evil, message of the video and the Thelemic theme of her manifesto.

Further in the song, another line states:

“A different lover is not a sin

Believe capital H-I-M (hey, hey, hey)”

In this spiritual context, is the “regular lover” God and the “different lover” His Infernal Majesty? "

:laughga:

Well , what an interesting interpretation.:lolgaga: SatanGa is so smart.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

I understand the lyrics as "it doesn't matter if you love a boy [implying being gay] or if you love God", meaning you can be religious or not, and love whoever the **** you want to love without feeling ashamed.

And like many people pointed it out, HIM is indeed the way God is referred to in the Bible.

him = a guy you like but youre not supposed to because homos-x is 'wrong'
HIM = god

so gaga is saying you can be who you are regardless of your s-xuality or religious beliefs

This right here pretty much.  Tell them sis!  Educate ha!   :yes:

Gotta love that I keep explaining this for the first three pages and people still don't get it.

this is completely irrelevant to the topic but thank you for your imput :)

Sorry, I thought you were asking if the Bible predates the rule that letters are capital when spelling out like "H-I-M". My mind's been gone for a few days ^^;

But maybe it's because "capital H-I-M" just sounds better than "H-I-M"? :shrug:

💅Too cute to be this overworked and underf*cked💅

Judas Oyster

I think it's just to point it out while you are listening (not reading) the song :) That it is H.I.M., not him.

edit: okey, actually, good point because she does say H, I, M :sweat:

I understand what you're saying and other people have given you the reasoning behind Gaga's lyrics of capital HIM.  I also agree with what the other people you quoted have stated, as well.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

Pure Adrenaline

it looks better capital H-I-M instead of H-i-m + she is referring to God maybe that's one reason for this :shrug:

CrownClown

Well "capital" it's in the booklet because she actually sings it, it's part of the lyrics...
So of course it's written down too:awkney:

Ferrer Zorola

you don't say capital H-I-M than write it like this: h-i-m, doesn't make sense, it would be a lie

what's really important is the fact that she didn't include the "church" lyric in the booklet

I never thought there's something wrong with it. And c'mon it's not a big deal and you know it.

Honestly, this song made me stopped listening to Gaga for 7 months because I was very religious back then (due to some illness I was undergoing) and I thought H-I-M stood for His Infernal Majesty which refers to Satan.
