CPS didn't do **** about my abusive home situation because emotional pain has no bruises, the world has a ****ed up view of pain and an odd way of measuring it.

As a transgender individual, Caitlyn has a 1 in 12 chance of getting murdered in her lifetime. 1 in 12 transgirls die from murder, and 41% attempt suicide.

Let's not compare pain and suffering, there shouldn't just be one courage award anyway.

They're both worthy winners and to just be considered for the award is a great feat.

If people are really pitting them against each other, they're clearly not familiar with what they both represent.

They are both brave and deserve the nomination they received.

It's not a competition :emma: But I guess in this case, as Noah Galloway's act of bravery is more physical and war is involved, therefore it is easier to appreciate. However, Caitlyn's struggles as a transgender woman, should not be diminished in relation to that.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

Both are brave, but with Caitlyn it is different kind of brave.

Many of people can't even out from their closet to their closest people like parents or friends,

let alone coming out on a national tv and watched by millions around the world.

I am sure that very day the interview was aired, lotsa more of Caitlyn contacts either sending her support or hate and telling that is the end of it for them. It can be very depressing.

Both individuals represent courage in a great way and are worthy of receiving this award. It really shouldn't be seen as a competition...

We shouldn't be ranking the suffering + experiences of anyone. They both deserve recognition for different reasons. Caitlyn has opened the door for thousands of trans people in using her position in society to raise awareness for the issues of trans people. Noah Galloway on the other hand proves the endless possibilities for people with disabilities.

However, right now, I feel the issue of transgender and awareness/acceptance in society is more necessary to be recognised on a larger scale at this moment in time than the issues surrounding disability. For years we have learned about people with disability, teachers are required to adapt their curriculum if there are people with disabilities in their class/school, there are whole subjects on the topic - the public fights for their rights and agrees they should have improved access to services etc. Transgender, on the other hand, is a mere dot point (not even in some schools/countries including my high school) within the list of s-xual orientations mentioned through s-x ed. People aren't fighting for their rights, people don't care to hear about such issues. Teachers hesitate when students ask about anything trans related, nobody BUT trans/advocates are educated on the topic whereas every student (in my case at least) can name a variety of disabilities and the issues associated with them.

In short, both are important, however the topic of transgender + issues faced by such individuals needs to be put in the spotlight. The public needs to develop their acceptance + tolerance as they did with various other groups in society.

So this graphic was made to belittle Caitlyn and the transgender struggle, right?
