Would Gaga have been asked to do a tribute at the Oscars without C2C?

I don't think she would have. The C2C era has exposed the world to Gaga's vocal abilities. I think a lot of people have more respect for her. And take her more seriously now. I will forever be grateful for Tony and Gaga's collaboration. I think a lot of doors opened up for her. I am very excited to see what she Wil do next.

TBH, yeah. C2C just furthered her artistry and also, Gaga was in the works for the Oscars performance way in advance, almost before Cheek to Cheek was formerly released

Thus, she already had the spot and Cheek to Cheek got some extra sales. It all worked out in the end

Well the vocals that Gaga displays on C2C aren't the type of vocals needed to sing that medley, so I'm sure the producers of the show were also familiar with Gaga's other work. C2C definitely will have helped though

It was still a huge leap of faith from them to pull it off though. Not even Gaga's fans had heard this type of vocal from her, so it was really great that even though Gaga wasn't popular at that time they still gave her a chance

If it wasn't for C2C? Yeah, there's a big possibility that it was one of the reason Academy chose her to do the tribute. Little bandwagoners were obviously wrong on how they'd treated c2c.

I don't know if C2C is the reason for the Oscars invitation to perform, but i'm sure it did help a lot to get it. Anyway, C2C is a blessing for Gaga, opening doors for her and opening people's eyes, ears and mind to her talents..
