Fiona Apple 13,006
Well I expect something like TFM.. It's not really experimental but it's not a mainstream album either
ViviLittleM 3
I just don't want a The Fame 2.
Iwontell 7,312
Well...she has potential for both tbh...ARTPOP was very mainstream and it "backfired", so I think she'll do something more against the trends, but with like great pop(ish) hooks and catchy choruses...going 100% experimental would backfire SO bad, and going 100% pop would feel like "oh, she went through all this and didn't learn anything at all...ok..." ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
gagzus 15,894
Oh, I'm just referring to aesthetics and production.oh well aesthetically & production wise yes it's mainstream but she kinda uses it as a way to get her message out there, I still think BTW was v different to the music at the time and still to this day no one has made songs like it. It's her defining album to me personally. She's a punk kid tbh but one who uses mainstream imagery to her advantage
Fiona Apple 13,006
This. She has never been experimental, though some fans think that Born This Way was. From The Fame to ARTPOP, her work has always been highly melodic, first and foremost, with unique genre-mashing and accessible musicality. All of her albums are kinda experimental tho Especially ARTPOP with songs like Aura,Swine,J&D
Bio 23,538
i think message wise BTW was experimental & slightly controversial, like idk many artists who have made pop songs about human rights & deep emotion, Michael Jackson did it a few times, other than that idk.In 2011 everyone made songs about bullying, Kesha, Katy Perry, Pink, Jessie J... Tresor 1,649
I want her to do what she always does: bring the experimental into the mainstream.
Alien Tulip 12,428
I just think it's VERY strange that some Gaga fans think Gaga making a mainstream album for the next one means shes not taking risks, not putting effort, not happy with it, etc. It's like if Gaga doesn't make an "experimental" then her weird fans will think shes not out of her comfort zone when in reality she's probably loving it
Yanko 9,860
it will be more organic production will focus on vocals and it will have manistream elements
Slayer 9,227
I'm HOPING that after the success of Cheek to Cheek, she no longer gives a fvck about selling big and just wants to make a critically acclaimed masterpiece. So I'm hoping for experimental (like David Bowie, not Yoko Ono), but we'll have to see. I would be really disappointed if she made another standard pop album without offering anything new to the table. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!! gagzus 15,894
In 2011 everyone made songs about bullying, Kesha, Katy Perry, Pink, Jessie J... but she was more daring with it & expressed it in a different way, plus supporting the LGBT (more G than the rest tho tbf) was a trend at the time & Gaga has been committed to the LGBTQ+ since the beginning, they all went back to pleasing the staright GP not long after (except K$ & P!nk kinda).I think it was more daring than the others plus, she directly references s-xuality & takes on religion on BTW they made songs about love & acceptance but neither reference nor use the words gay at all
venusian 4,686
idk I'd rather discuss LG5 as of now, can't think about the album after the next album... you must be new here ... people call it lg5 and lg6 bc the people who call it lg. are ignorant and don't think cheek touched counted WELCOME TO THE TRAGIC KINGDOM
ViviLittleM 3
I just want to hear her real voiceand lyrics like thatI'm gonna marry the nightI won't give up on my lifeI'm a warrior queenLive passionately tonightI'm gonna marry the darkGonna make love to the starkI'm a soldier to my own emptinessI am a winner
djBuffoon 12,120
She's a punk kid tbh but one who uses mainstream imagery to her advantage All of her albums are kinda experimental tho Especially ARTPOP with songs like Aura,Swine,J&D I wouldn't describe her as experimental, but don't take that as a negative. I didn't fall in love with her because she reinvented the wheel, I'm a fan because she's a genius with melody, hooks, and assembling a production that is detailed and intricate.
