She's showcased her vocals time and time again, again after seeing her Grammys performance LOADS of people are surprised at her voice this time round at the Oscars? Like many fans said, we all could identify her usual voice in a second but she phuqing didn't sound like herself at all at the Oscars, in good way. She blew all our minds. The majority of pop music singers aren't exactly known to the public for being great singers when they sing live I also think it's because of her shocking outfits. People don't really think of her as a great singer but rather a pop artist who puts on weird outfits and does things to get attention. Cheek to Cheek at The Grammy's was good but didn't show off her vocals like this. The Oscars have such a large audience, she hasn't really given a performance like this at a high profile event before. To be honest, the beginning of the performance took me aback. I know she can sing, but she hasn't showcased her range as well as this before. Everyone knows Whitney, Mariah, Christina can sing because they always perform/ed as vocal powerhouses. It didn't really sound like her usual voice, more like a professional opera singer Madonna & Britney can, it's just that they never show it and the songs that they choose to sing aren't adapted to their vocal ranges, just like Katy Perry. Yeah they can. But not with the power Gaga showed.
