Voltaire 4,531
Read the Article Here This means that millions of families can live in security, not fear-- that millions of people can have peace as they work towards full citizenship. Does this directly affect any of you? Here is a photo from last Friday, I had the pleasure of supporting my employee in gaining her citizenship after a ten year process, it was such an honor and it made me proud to attend a ceremony that circled around something I was born into and took for granted: I just spoke with her on the phone after President Obama's speech, and we are already laying plans to help as many families as possible with their paperwork as a part of our business efforts in the community. I obviously am supporting this, but still-- feel open to discuss, including opposing positions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHGKG9dyTKI Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker

Voltaire 4,531
Slaying that suit Drew Thanks! That's only because the old Indian man sitting next to me (looked like your avi tbh) kept properly dusting me free of lint. He was very preoccupied with helping me look my best. Edit: He also kept loudly naming off the "Indians" before they stepped up to identify themselves as if it was a national game to spot your kin. He would mumble "yup...knew it" when they did indeed follow their name with "from India". One said "Sri Lanka" and I swear he muttered "bull****" under his breath. He had called her as Indian and I don't think he liked being wrong. Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker

Knife 7,080
Great news for people seeking citizenship; I'm happy for them. Just recently, an actress from Orange Is The New Black, Diane Guerrero, shared her story about having her parents and sibling deported when she was just 14 years old. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49fN762AQWE

I hope this so much for you and your mom. This is a huge step in that direction. Great news for people seeking citizenship; I'm happy for them. I was just explaining this to my family who had never realized what immigrant families go through. I just sent the vid on to my mom to keep the conversation going. Morphine Prince 109,682
This isn't a path to citizenship though. Listen to his speech. And the new president in two years can reverse this law. Just keep these things in mind.
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Well, people are flipping that he did it without Congress...so i figured I'd throw it up there to stoke some potential discussion. Calling me out! :air: This was quite a huge compromise though. He had to make sure that what he was doing was within his rights. He basically had to negotiate so that they receive legal protection and what not, but they do not currently qualify for government-aided subsidies like Obama Care, so these people are currently kind of without gov. healthcare (which is good or bad depending on the families situation). That problems going to need to be fixed Still, a great step tbh. One that can either go backwards or forwards since this is only an executive order or whatever... TBH though the next president revoking this would be beyond dickish. Imagine it, "President removes legal status from millions of immigrants. Deportations starting again" :air: The fact that John ****ing Boehner is always like "Imma sue that b---h" for doing something that conservatives are against because they couldn't use our scare-tactic won majority in congress to stop him They are so butthurt :madge: 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
