djBuffoon 12,120
They're quite truthful, though. You're bashing them now, but you'll be praising them when they put Gaga #1 on the Celebrity 100. truthful =/= accurate

giskardsb 12,565
That guy actually has some decent points (although I don't think the mix is as bad as he says) but he definitely has a "jazz hipster" mentality. And jazz hipsters can be really pedantic about their interpretation of jazz.
JaggedMonster 2
1. This. 2. It's because Beyonce is more white than Lady Gaga in a very sick way. 3. She's black. 4. Love Beyoncé is trendy 5. Its funny how ppl seem to forget about that Mess that is "4" :madge: That guy actually has some decent points (although I don't think the mix is as bad as he says) but he definitely has a "jazz hipster" mentality. Jesse Pinkman 4,660
What does Beyonce have to do with anything? They have some truth to what they said, but I enjoy the album. It's science, bitch
2007 5,291
Gaga be like "say what you want, write what you want about me....cuz baby I'm SLAYING right now, you can shove that irrlevant 'review' (I guess) up your asses lol"
PlasticHo 706
What does Beyonce have to do with anything? They have some truth to what they said, but I enjoy the album. I just don't buy that they're truly disappointed with the quality of the work. I think if another artist were in Gaga's spot the review wouldn't be near what we are reading. And jazz hipsters can be really pedantic about their interpretation of jazz. That's what I meant with saying it seems that he's bothered about the fact that he likes the album but as the hipster he is he had to be edgy ofc. I think if another artist were in Gaga's spot the review wouldn't be near what we are reading. I think some of the points they made were genuine, and it's consistent with what a lot of people are saying about the album. You're right though, there definitely is some bias going on in the music industry. It happens all the time, but I think this article is one of the more rational ones. Whispering 18,865
"All due respect to Bennett, but he’s never been a great. He was just lucky enough to outlive all the true greats of his era." This statement is false and downright ignorant, though. Tony had his first hit back in 1951. a number one on the Pop charts (yes, the Pop charts) that stayed there for 10 weeks. It was followed by another number one in that year and another one in 1953, that topped the charts for 8 weeks. Later that year came another number one that crossed over to be a #1 in the UK, and started off Bennett's career as an international artist. Once the rock and roll era began in 1955, the dynamic of the music industry changed and it became harder and harder for existing pop singers to do well commercially. Nevertheless, Bennett continued to enjoy success, placing eight songs in the Billboard Top 40 during the latter part of the 1950s. In 1962, Bennett won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Male Solo Vocal Performance for "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". This was early in Tony's career. He had several number ones and many top 40 hits, and won a couple of Grammys during this first decade of his career. Those successes weren't about outliving the greats of the era, he was in his twenties during this time.
