I consider it so, it could have been longer if Japan is not Japan that we know today.

they are hardworking people, and highly efficient and technologically advanced. Thats why they tend to do well in some things.

But economically, their problems are really severe. I dont know how on Earth they are gonna recover from this

Over the last 25 years theyve only deteriorated with failed attempt after failed attempt to revive their economy

The lastest attempt they started 3 years ago with the agressive economic scheme they are calling "abenomics" is failing to do much and has only added to their already giant debt

Unless they are willing to raise retirement age, deregulate business sector further to encourage entrepreneurship, and increase immigrants big time, i dont see them ever recovering

At this rate, sometime within the next 5-15 years they are gonna have a massive financial crisis, a currency collapse, an inability to recover cause their issues will still be there, and Japan as we know it will be over :MANiCURE:

one has to wonder how they are gonna do that at this point

 

Their deflation, and old population that invests conservatively in bonds may have kept interest rates really low and prevented the financial system in Japan from going into a financial meltdown despite a weak economy for so long and a debt as massive as they have.

 

But no Country in the world has dug a whole as deep as they have in multiple ways

 

They dont just have the largest debt burden in the world. They also have one of the worst demographics in the worldto make matters worse, and theyve developed a highly uncompetitive economy that will take a lot of doing to get back up on its feet.

 

Im curious to see what new creative economic experiments they invent over the next 3-5 years. They invented Quantitative Easing in the year 2000 (which 14 years later they are still doing) which the world used in the most recent financial crisis :popcorn:

In the hospital he has his own kitchen, bed, TV, computer, bathroom - while they could let him live 1 year less and save about 30.000€ in healthcare costs. I suppose the same could and should be done in Japan), and they need to take measures to get more kids born - make it less expensive to go out, give parents more financial support, improve the education system, promote having 2 or 3 kids, free child nursery.

They need to get immigrants from China, a bigger working female population, old people should not have those last 2-3 expensive years for free in the hospital (my grandpa got 3 operations done and has been lying in a hospital for 1 month right now, and he takes 10 pills a day, all of them free. In the hospital he has his own kitchen, bed, TV, computer, bathroom - while they could let him live 1 year less and save about 30.000€ in healthcare costs. As for females, thats another big issue. Only about half of women of working age actually work which also leads to a small workforce

yeah I was like WTF? when I learned about that

Japan is still a very man's wolrd society and women are still treated like second class citizens that should only try to be as much "kawaii" as possible and gays are still hidden in their homes, no one will beat them or anything but they are not what the japanese society expect from them, no wonder Japan is one of the countries with the highest rates of suicides in the world, a very opressive society tbh

 

I wish the japanese society was just like in anime, but sadly anime and manga is just a fantasy, it's not real
