UPDATE: If you think you are too immature or are too sensitive to read objective things about your country, please do not come into this thread. This is not a thread about which countries are better. It is based entirely on hard numbers derived from GDP.

 

AND DISCLAIMER: This is not an attack article on Britain!!! The title just singles the country out because it happens to rank lowers in the author's calculations. This is an examination of MANY other countries in Europe and it in no way is supposed to reflect the hierarchy of developed nations.

A lot of people say that the wealth of the US is just due to its massive size and big population, but if you break it down by state, you find thats really not the case. Example: California's GDP

ALONE is bigger than most other countries!

(California would be the 8th largest economy in the world if it was a stand alone country!)

 

 

The article also lists other coutures compared to independent US states (Germany would be the 13th poorest, Sweden would be the 15th poorest,  etc.). Just scroll down the graphic.

Yes, but that doesn't make anyone is those states wealthy. It's most likely the opposite. The wealth disparity in those countries is much less severe than the one in the U.S. If the chart was showing median household income, then it wouldn't look so great for those states.

A better comparison is based on the income or wealth of the median average person.
