It has been reported that restoring via iTunes solves the issue, however Apple has taken iOS 8.0.1 offline - so I can't restore... Just stuck with it. :flop:

so I can't decide if I want to just pay for the insurance replacement which is like $140 or pay $199 and upgrade to the six

iOS 8.0.2 is out.

Issues addressed:
Fixes 8.0.1 issue with TouchID and cellular service.
Fixes health kit bug
Fixes issue with 3rd party keyboards becoming deselected after password entry.
Fixes issue that stopped 3rd party apps from accessing photos
Improved reliability of Reachability
Fixed issue that caused unexpected (cellular) data usage when receiving SMS/MMS
Better support of Ask to Buy for Family Sharing for IAPs.
Fixes issue when ringtones not fully restored on iCloud backup
Fixes photo/video upload bug on Safari.

I installed on my iPhone 6, no problems with cellular or Touch ID.

the UNIX bash vulnerability.

Apparently it's been growing exponentially and individuals are not running bots, worms and attempting to DDOS servers and unencrypt their content, which began in the course of 4 hours after the bug was found.

wat

It's not good news in terms of security is all.

Some are dismissing it, but servers are reporting attacks across the globe and attempts to gain server passwords and full control.
