I feel like Born This Way was her defining herself as an artist and after all her cultural impact she could go anywhere she wanted as an artist but sadly she broke her hip. I think she should have released Cheek 2 Cheek after her hip injury as her comeback, when Applause came out, she got a lot of media attention because she hadn't made any music in 2 years. She should have released Anything Goes or whatever would have been the single at the time because she would've been legendary after making this Jazz record when Miley Cyrus is Twerking and Katy is doing pop music. Okay, sorry for this little rant thing but I think ARTPOP is a personal record for her and she should have kept it to herself and maybe release a few songs here and there or just released it after C2C but I know that Interscope would not let her do that but I think this would have been a better route to go in. Gypsy was and is perfect as well to showcase the voice, and is one of the few mass relateable tracks on the album... I feel like the upswing to lighter material was essential.
