Not positive, but it looks like things may go smoother tonight considering HP is giving these people the platform to express themselves to be upset and concerned. Leader Ron Johnson is allowing peaceful protestors to stay as long as they want, curfew-free. He's doing things a bit differently and the energy seems more positive. Good. If Ferguson stays safe tonight, that tells me all I need to know about the Ferguson Police vs Highway Patrol's controlling tactics. Every single one of them I saw said the officers in Ferguson did not handle the situation correctly, and one even said he would have released the name of the officer who killed Brown immediately. "We as a people have the right to know." he said. Imagine if Ferg. Police were still in charge, we would not even be getting the name of the officer tomorrow. I remember being stopped and harassed by police in the street when I was younger (around 15) and being so confused.Looking back at it, they could have ruined my life completely if they wanted to because as a young black man I am not afforded the assumption of "innocence" or "humanity" for that matter. These riots and these outbursts are the results of black people constantly being told that we're "exaggerating" or that our struggles are basically not valid. EVEN NOW in the midst of all of this, they're doing everything they can to silence black voices, it's just getting exposure because the media is going against Ferguson's wishes.
