Lady Gaga has become bored, lazy and complacent

...so what you're really saying is, she needs a break?

Who's stopping her? Her fans? If so, she needs to stop caring about what we want and just do what she needs to do. Take a break if that's what she needs. Screw what the fans think.

Not everything has to be a big deal.

I wasn't saying anything nor was I pointing Gaga in any sort of direction. I was trying to put things into context for the fans that were saying she's become lazy because it was kind of annoying

Yeah, I wasn't trying to attack you if it came off that way, just speaking generally. Sorry.

No, I didn't think that! I was just taking the opportunity to say I wasn't suggesting anything to any monsters who may or may not come to the thread and accuse me of being a little manager

If she was tired she shouldn't have put the album out in the first place. Of course people are going to be bragging about promo in an album era.

It's so frustrating when people imply Gaga isn't doing enough, or not doing something right. Her music and art is her job. Think of how most people do their jobs. They clock in 40 hours a week, then clock out and leave their work at work so they can go focus on their personal time, social life, etc. They do what's expected of them, and maybe they do it very well, and some of us really excel, but at the end of the day people recognize that it's okay for employees to clock out.

Many Gaga fans, and even members of the GP, don't recognize that it's okay for Gaga to clock out sometimes. It's okay that she's not working herself to the bone to give us everything we want. Many of us would complain and ask for raises and talk about how unfair it is if our employers started asking us to do half as much as Gaga does (the stress and inconsistent sleep/eating schedule of touring alone would be enough to make a lot of us want to crawl into a hole and never come out!).

It's also frustrating when people pull the "Gaga can't release _____ or do _____ but she can post all these pictures of Asia on Twitter?!"

There's always more going on underneath the surface. She has friends and family with whom she has a social life- she cares about them, and they have life events and situations she is most likely involved with. She's gone through legal disputes with multiple people. She has partnerships with organizations and people that she most likely communicates with. She has a record label to set things up with. Working on her album with Tony. Perhaps putting things together for her own next album. Etc.

How many of us go to school, have a full time job, etc. and find OURSELVES saying "I don't have time for ____" ? Why do we allow ourselves to say "I don't have time," but judge Gaga for the things she allots her time to, not truly knowing what goes on behind the scenes for her?

I agree that she needs to rest. The Fame and The Fame Monster were cumulations of her past inspiration which she was collecting trough long time before (mainly subconsiously I guess) so that's why they were so good and she had 10000 ideas per minute. Now she used it all and needs to rest and collect inspirations again.

That's an interesting point. I never thought of it like that, but it does make sense!

I think it could also come from initially being very limited on what you can do to all of a sudden having a ton of money and the ability to kinda do ANYTHING you want. Sometimes limitations can be good, as you make the BEST out of what you're given because you understand the "boundaries." But when you have no visible "boundaries," it's hard to determine how you can push them.

Agreed tbh

I mean without a healthy Gaga we won't get any more music

And her physical health is just as important as her mental health, I mean some fans want people from her previous team back but they forget that people like Laurieann Gibson are no good for her, although she was really talented

I agree

Her health >>>>>>>>>>

It's like these fans want her to be hurt or die or something

like seriously she's a f*cking human being

stop being so self-centred because you are not happy with what she is providing for you

This !!!!

I think she doesn't want to disappoint her fans, she said that being away from us during the blackout was really really hard (remember I Wanna Be With You ?), but her health is much more important than anything else. When I watch her performances, I always say to myself: "Gosh this woman is working herself to death, she's doing too much !". I know she loves making music and making her fans happy but if she needs some rest, she should take some rest.

People tend to forget Gaga had problems with creative freedom and management

Little Managers need to HOP OFF her dick. Go stan for Katy or something if you want mediocre success.

I agree that we should respect Gaga's health and be understanding if she needs to take a break for herself. That's fine and completely reasonable. However, she is also a professional who has obligations to her record label and to her career and feeling stressed or tired is no excuse for not giving 100 percent when she chooses to start a new era. That has arguably been the biggest issue with ARTPOP - I don't care what was going on behind the scenes or in her personal life, the execution and promotion of this album was hugely bungled and that ultimately lies upon her shoulders. I understand that she probably felt under pressure from her fans and label, but she's powerful and well-respected enough in the industry that she could've definitely requested a 6 month to a year extension for the next album if she needed more time to recover from the hip injury and the BTWB. It's obvious from the production of the album that she wasn't as involved as she usually is - using entirely pre made instrumental backing tracks, etc. Furthermore, she also publicly made some really childish and immature moves like personally leaking Aura - hugely inappropriate and disrespectful to her label. Finally, the fact that she basically disappeared from the public eye 2 or 3 months after the album came out shows her unwillingness to promote the album further.

Gaga basically receives all of the credit and huge financial rewards (hundreds of millions of dollars by now) when one of her albums does well. However, that also means that, as a leader and an artist, she should be prepared to shoulder all of the responsibility and blame when an album doesn't do well. The buck stops with Lady Gaga.
