ISIS Terrorism Discussion

I thought I had the courage but after watching it I would regret doing so. It's not that it's gruesome or scary but rather seeing an innocent man's life with a good heart have his head cut off while his family watches behind screens is what makes me really sad :( Plus he's been hostage for 20 months. No one should die this way or any similar.

I'm agree  :(

Those who operate under Islamic State are thugs and how can any of this benefit those who follow Allah? These are dogs of war and terror who should be hunted down like the dogs they are. It is clear they have no respect for human life, even for fellow Muslims. I hate the idea of sending troops back that way... If American troops are to go back to Iraq, the Arab League nations and Iran should work with the US to send a message that this sort of extremism does not represent Islam or its people.

Interesting that you say ''dogs'' because this sect in Islam is described as ''Dogs of Hellfire''.

Indeed, they call themselves as such. I hope my anger did not offend you, but I'll admit that this crap does piss me off. I don't see how these actions can be justified.

No way, you didn't offend me. I agree with you, I just wanted to point out that they are rejected by the scholars of Islam and they warn about them since this sect existed in various forms since ages ago. They wouldn't admit that they are khawaarij/takfeeris but all of their characteristics show that they are indeed that.

Unfortunately many young converts are naive, they just start practising religion and someone evil can easily brainwash them into this, in many cases this youth has also criminal background and d--gs/alcohol abuse in their past so also that shows in their actions.

Too bad many muslim countries are too weak to hunt them down.

London (CNN) -- The UK government raised its terror threat level Friday from "substantial" to "severe," the fourth highest of five levels, in response to events in Iraq and Syria, where ISIS militants have seized a large swath of territory.

"That means that a terrorist attack is highly likely, but there is no intelligence to suggest that an attack is imminent," Home Secretary Theresa May said.

The "root cause" of Britain's terror threat is "Islamist extremism," Prime Minister David Cameron said. The execution of American journalist James Foley is clear evidence that ISIS's fight in Iraq and Syria "is not some foreign conflict thousands of miles from home that we can hope to ignore," according to the UK leader.

ISIS is unlike other Islamist extremist groups in its primary focus not to find a country that can be its base of operations, but to create its own country. And the group has had ample success in that regard, given the vast reach already of what it calls the Islamic State.

While it's been widely reviled internationally, ISIS has managed to attract some support among Muslims and drawn foreign fighters, like the masked man with an apparent British accent who took part in Foley's beheading, who some fear could soon carry out attacks back home.

Even without specific threats in the West, ISIS' track record in Syria and Iraq -- where it was known to massacre minorities, forcefully institute Sharia law and stage executions and stonings -- suggest it may be capable of anything. Cameron said the group poses a "greater and deeper" threat than Britain has ever known.

"This is al Qaeda version 6.0," Ryan Crocker, a former U.S. ambassador to Iraq and Syria, told CNN on Friday. "They are like nothing we have ever seen before."

(CNN) -- It took U.S. airstrikes against ISIS positions, airlifts of U.S. and international aid, and rescue efforts by Kurdish Peshmerga forces to help thousands of Yazidis escape imminent danger from ISIS forces in northern Iraq.

But the nightmare continues for hundreds of Yazidi girls and women, unable to get out of harm's way, who are being being sold by ISIS to its fighters in Syria, according to a human rights group.
