Netanyahu's government is not serious about peace
The prime minister's conduct during most of his time in office makes a mockery of his various slogans and declarations concerning new diplomatic opportunities.

The ink was not yet dry on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s promises, after Operation Protective Edge, of a “diplomatic vision†and “new opportunities in the Middle East,†before he and his cabinet were back to their old policy, which is subservient to the interests of the settlers and those who reject peace.

The Civil Administration’s announcement of the expropriation of 3,800 dunams (950 acres) of village lands in the West Bank to create continuity of settlement between Gush Etzion and Jerusalem, in response to the kidnapping and murder in June of three Jewish teens in the Etzion bloc, renders Netanyahu’s slogans meaningless of value.

It does so in the same way that his conduct during most of his time as prime minister makes a mockery of his declarations, in his Bar-Ilan speech, regarding his commitment to the two-state solution and the vision of peace. The repeated announcements of expanding construction in the settlements during the nine months of negotiations with the Palestinian Authority brought those talks to an end. The outcome shows that Netanyahu continues to prove right the Palestinians’ claims that Israel has no interest in peace talks.

It is difficult to understand why the prime minister takes the trouble, from time to time, to plant the hope that he wants a peace agreement, when at the same time his government continues to builds in the territories  activity that is nothing but a targeted assassination of such an agreement. The prime minister  who in the early days of the latest cease-fire conveyed the sense that he had awoken from his “no partner†obsession and had “discovered†Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who during the fighting in the Gaza Strip prevented the outbreak of an intifada in the West Bank  is himself destroying the new opportunities he claimed to seek.

Netanyahu is being led by the cabinet members of Habayit Hayehudi, who do as they wish with the state and its resources. His ingratiating attitude toward the extreme-right electorate, which abandoned him during Operation Protective edge, is automatic.

The “appropriate Zionist response†to the kidnapping and murder in whose name the Israeli government is eliminating any possibility of peace, is in no manner Zionist. It turns Israel into an internationally boycotted pariah state that sacrifices the possibility of peace on the altar of its imperialist and messianic aspirations and perpetuates the bloody conflict. This was expressed in the course of Operation Protective Edge, in which 2,200 people were killed. The “appropriate Zionist response†leads Israel from the frying pan into the fire, and eventually could lead to the end of the Zionist vision.

It's so sad that now this isn't a "new" news topic, people are caring less and less, all the while Palestinian civilians continue to be massacred.

Massacred? Most of the killed Palestinians were terrorists.

And you always think about one side, you never think of the Israeli side..

And btw, the war is over for now.

Bibi's words are not written in Holy Scripture and Israeli side did not provide a single evidence for this claim. Shame on you for calling innocent civilians - terrorists only to make your country look better.

But neither the prime minister’s office nor the Israeli military have provided any detailed, verifiable tally of their own to account for their contention that the conflict killed some 1,000 terrorists.

“The Israeli claim of 900 or 1,000 fighters killed is just a claim. Please. Provide your data, the names and circumstances, so we can verify. They criticize us. We are held accountable. Where are their lists?†said Mahmoud Abu Rahma, director of communications for the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, which is investigating the cause of casualties in the Gaza war.

Israel banned human rights organizations from entering Gaza during the war, if you are so sure you did nothing wrong, what do you have to hide?

And by stealing more land from West Bank and refusing to send delegation to Cairo as stipulated in Gaza ceasefire agreement  we can really see that Israel wants peace.

(Reuters) - The Israeli military has provided its most detailed assessment yet of the conduct and impact of the Gaza war, including photographs indicating that militants stored and fired rockets from schools and a breakdown of the toll inflicted on Hamas.

In a briefing at its headquarters in Tel Aviv, the Israel Defense Forces presented a minute picture of the structure and capability of Hamas and other militant groups operating in Gaza, an effort to explain the severity of the threat Israel faced and justify Israel's heavy tank shelling and air strikes during the 50-day conflict -- tactics that drew international criticism.

Among the evidence laid out by a senior military officer were details of the ranges and number of rockets fired by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, photographs showing how rocket launchers were hidden in graveyards and a school playground, and how tunnels were used to carry out and escape from the site of attacks.

One set of photographs showed a school by day, its central yard empty. By night, rockets looked to be stockpiled in the yard. At another school a canopy, where a hole had been torn for a rocket launching, was further frayed after a projectile was fired from underneath, he said.

"We're dealing with a carefully structured and in many cases well trained terrorist force," said the general staff officer, who spoke on condition that his name not be used.

"Hamas has at least 16,000 operatives organized into six brigades across the Gaza Strip, each with its own commander, while (Islamic Jihad) has a similar structure and a total of around 6,000 operatives."

Didn't want to open this again but people should really stop with the: "Hamas is just protecting. Hamas doesn't harm the Gazans..." and all of that

Hamas exists because of the injustice that was made against the palestinians for 7 decades.

What does that have to do with what I wrote though?

Nothing.. I just red your comment about hamas and wanted to share my opinion on hamas that yes they are bad and I hate them but when you are treated with injustice people will do bad things.
