Bebe 17,094
Her work with Robert Wilson shown at Louvre Museum https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMzCdX2klFs her work with Nathan Sawaya Her work with Jeff Koons Her work with The Muppets Her UNRELEASED TAPE featuring R.Kelly and shot by Terry Richardson Her work with Donatella Versace and the Versace brand. While other artists have been aiming for a number one song, Lady Gaga has been busy imbedding herself into art history and pop history and is now on a worldwide tour. She also has Terry Richardson, who has photographed countless people including President Obama, following her and documenting her life as a HAUS member. Could she actually be slaying anymore right now? She has just immortalised herself in the art and commercial world. Pop culture is her b---h.
No Angel 128
Eh, even when it seems like she's not doing as good.. she's still succeeding. She's been doing this since TFM; aligning herself with many well-known people as they agree to work with her, too. And I find it funny how some people try their best to discredit her, but she continues working with people who have built their brands from the ground up and have a sturdy/successful legacy. djBuffoon 12,123
Not to mention the iconic video of her practicing the Abramović method with absolutely zero shame or fear. Oh, and ongoing collaborations with Tony Bennett and Sir Elton.

GypsyPrince 237
Mark my words, just as with Born This Way which started out hated by everyone and is now her most critically acclaimed album, ARTPOP will be remembered for the various impacts it has made on the pop and art landscape. When will your pop star commercial singer fave get to have her work featured in the Louvre? Collaborations do not a legend make I think what the OP is trying to point out is the huge disparity between Gaga and her contemporaries. While the rest are collaborating with other successful artists / producers just to sell records, Gaga looks beyond the music industry to find more people to work with and to expand her creative kingdom. This may not always turn out well, but you can see at least the girl TRIES.
Scarlet Witch 1,642
Well but working with so many artists/talents does not make one's work good.

2NE1LG 193
I totally agree with what you're saying. However, I think that "ARTPOP" is what she has been doing from the beginning of her career. There are plenty of references to art and art history in her past three records, but with this album, I don't really hear any references to art or art history at all. She has brought art history into the visuals of the era. But if I were to be presented with the album by itself without the packaging, without any visuals, just the files, I would have a hard time finding the connect between her creative statement and the actual product. But since this whole project encompasses more than just audio, it becomes easy to see where she was going with it.
