Lady Gaga's epic 12-minute performance at Sunday's Super Bowl Halftime show might have involved powerhouse vocals, fierce dance moves, a powerful message, and even a swan-dive from the roof, instead Gaga's "belly" is what some viewers decide to put their focus on. Despite the fact that the singer spent months training for the biggest performance of her career, some Internet bullies took to their social media accounts to criticise her for not having a flat stomach.

Those body-shaming comments spawned strong reaction from Lady Gaga's Little Monsters, and now Mother Monster herself decided to respond to the criticism.

"I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I'm proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too," she wrote in an Instagram post. "No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don't need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That's the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys."
