Too Much NOISE

Okay, so I was just on iTunes previewing songs from each of her albums and I noticed something. The fame seemed more melody driven as well as the fame monster but the fame monster had a little more production (probably the perfect combo). Born this Way seems more focused on the production the vocals are more quiet than the instrumentals. Which brings us to ARTPOP. the production seems to be the main focus, not the melodies or voice. I can hardly hear her voice in many parts. It's hard to listen to honestly. I feel like she started with the beats for every song on ARTPOP instead of creating a song around melodies and lyrics she created.

MJH is the only loud song on the album. You can count Gypsy too if you want... But that's it.

The beats and production are harder, but I also personally think that her songwriting is the best it's ever been.

I don't really think that tbh...

MJH is like the only song on ARTPOP that made me feel that way

and the only BTW song that made me sort of feel that way is HML

See it ruins gypsy. That song was meant to have less production. It is pretty much a ballad. I just don't get the need for all the extra stuff. I wish she did an album with an orchestra!!!!!!

I agree with you on your observations, especially TFM being perfect :legend: Although I wouldn't call ARTPOP hard to listen to, I do feel what you're feeling, but to a lessor extent :)

I don't agree. MANiCURE doesn't make sense. MJH, Donatella, Swine, Aura and Venus are all other the place lyrically. Sexxx Dreams is great. Most everything on the album is hard to relate to and noisy. She has so much talent that could be showcased if she stripped things down a bit, wrote more relatable lyrics and focused on the melody first.

:Chica: the lyrics on ARTPOP are by far the worst (not counting The Fame because most songs there are satire, meant to be shallow - exploring the superficial lifestyle of fame)

Exactly. The Fame made sense at least. I can't make sense of half the songs on ARTPOP. The lyrics are so random.
