She would still get controversy with BTW single and Judas though. Americano isn't a song I really enjoy I find it too loud but I know many non fans who love it. It would have done good Gaga needs controversy though and I think that after TEOG Judas would have done much better and Gaga would already have two hits so the risk wouldn't be that big... Like: Because it is a lead single it would be more likely to do well. Remember the slayage that was ARTPOP performed at Swinefest? Now imagine that being the first performance of the new Gaga lead single but performed at the VMAs. She wouldn't have needed to try to outshock Miley because that performance doesn't call for it.
