Ascetic 0
Stop blaming radio DJs. These people used to spin Gaga 24/7 and gave her nonstop #1s on Top 40 yet you're gonna say they personally have an issue with her? Radio stations are paid by listener count for the advertisements they air. They only play songs that sound like hits to maximize their revenue. Just stop the baseless attacks. There is no proof of this. Sadly Capitol doesn't report their "donations" otherwise we could see the tax transcript online ;)

Essence 244
She should have released DWUW as the lead single ! Again the same mistake like the previous era - imagine TEOG being lead single from BTW Both songs were not considered as singles at first, just promo singles I love DWUW but TEOG is a much stronger lead Also Applause has a much more definitive chorus. DWUW is very "pop" but its chorus also just blends in with its surroundings.

Bye 3,947
The fact it never went Top 100 and then continued falling on iTunes with airplay increases (esp when compared to Birthday, which is higher with comparable airplay and no video AND that single has a weak ratio itself) was a pretty big sign.. Birthday while being in the 200s (which happened only because of the lyric video) started getting 1M+ updates. Where were these updates when GUY was in the top 200? craig 680
You don't think Roar had payola just like all her other singles this era? It had a radio deal WEEK ONE like BTW and many lead singles. Then why would it need payola, when it had the highest selling week of the year and just continued on. It would take Katy haters with deep pockets to stop them playing it. GagaMyBlood95 9,915
You don't think Roar had payola just like all her other singles from the beginning? Sorry, corrected.. Birthday while being in the 200s (which happened only because of the lyric video) started getting 1M+ updates. Where were these updates when GUY was in the top 200? lol this... it's so obvious that its funny..

VforVendetta 2,024
Radios don't have anything with Gaga though. The thing is that they have something with Katy. :awkney:

Dean Winchester 197
This place is a f**kin mess. What is with all this Katy talk recently? It wouldn't be that big of a shocker if she does payola :reductive: but honestly, who cares :excuseme: she may and she may not, we'll never know for sure so we should stop driving ourselves insane trying to "expose" the truth or whatever

It's just weird how Roar was still top 10 radio in the UK half a year after release. The UK. A market where longetivity is basically non-existant. Ascetic 0
It's just weird how Roar was still top 10 radio in the UK half a year after release. The UK. A market where longetivity is basically non-existant. Exactly The longest run of "longevity" recently in the UK was 10 weeks by Rihanna with Umbrella (at #1), but overall the Top 10 positions shift practically every single week. Most of the longer singles were in the 50s and 90s probably, when music boomed. That is odd. In the US too, longevity nowadays is a bit harder to find, though not like in 2003-2005 where every 2-3 weeks the Top 10 and number one was changing.
