Mills 446
How could it be 2.3 millions copies sold knowing that it's been out of top 100 (or top 200) in most country.. I'm not a hater but 2.3 million is impossible, really. The 2.3 million figure came from IFPI, the only reputable source out there in terms of worldwide record sales recognized by the music industry and not just the social media community. Even prior to the release of ARTPOP, the figures from IFPI have been universally regarded as the closest to the actual sales, considering there's currently no Nielsen SoundScan counterpart which tracks all record sales worldwide. I don't understand why suddenly the data from IFPI should be regarded as shipments now just because they're showing ARTPOP has sold 2.3 million, when in the past, even prior to the rise of Gaga, they're widely accepted as sales. Mills 446
It's only impossible to those who want to be negative and the haters. To everyone else we can just check a pdf file stating sales reports. Facts >>>>>> what we think/believe/our opinion Agreed. The figure released is technically a fact. Unless someone discredit the entire reputation of IFPI, then that'll be the only time for it to be opened for contention.

Since facts point towards them being actual sales then until someone discredits that people (especially MONSTERS) should stop pushing the 1.8M figure. I am certain that had IFPI written shipments or sales to retailers no one would be disputing it. And therefore no one should assume the 2.3M figure is not sales. These numbers aren't only for Gaga but for all other artists so they are very fair.

BTW has sold 2.2M in the US and 8M WW, so 6M outside for the US. Its a very healthy ratio for Gaga.

True, but since nowhere does it state they are shipments or sales to retailers we should not assume they're shipments. They have been reported as sales (and not sales to retailers). ... Thank you!
