By the way, you don't go to SXSW in AUSTIN to do a clean, fun pop show.

That's not the problem. She hasn't done a "clean fun pop show" since 2009

No. No, Gaga, you didn't. You didn't become famous for any of what happened at SXSW.

She is so unrecognizable from the Gaga I fell in love with.

Sure, there were aspects of the show I liked, but overall this was awful and messy.

She tries way too fxcking hard.

Does anyone else agree? If she didn't want to be a pop singer she shouldn't have tried to be one.

Honestly, if Artrave is like this show I might actually stop following her career this closely. I'm really disappointed and sad. She's not even the same person. I feel so let down.

i actually could not disagree with you more. "trying too hard" is the complete opposite of what she did tonight. I think she just went out tonight as herself for maybe the first time ever. kind of a punk rock underground girl who is wild and crazy n likes to have fun. looking back before she was famous w starlight she acted wayyyyyy more like this than she did like the fame or the fame monster. im proud of her for not caring and doing herself and feeling like it was fine.  i loved her tonight and I'm a bigger little monster than ever honestly lol keep it up gaga!

and she isnt saying she doesnt want to be a pop singer shes saying she doesnt want to be restricted to the boundaries which are given to pop singers in general. she can wear dreads and be barefoot and get puked on. bc thats her vision, who she is and what she wants to do.  :gaga:  this was the perfect performance for this event

I understand both sides but I think the set fit in with sxsw. its not supposed to be all glossy and pop perfected. She loves heavy metal and this was her time to be a little hardcore with it. On a side note the one thing that kinda bothered me during her jimmy kimmel interview was when she said she hates selfies and how technology is taking humankind to another level but then the next sentence was about her Instagram Doritos "bold moves" (can't stand that) campaign. Ranting sorry

I do love that she evolves, but this is so polar from her start. I would probably like her a lot now if she had been this way back then, but it's really just so disappointing from her. If it wasn't Gaga I would have liked it more, if that makes sense.

Yeah in my original point I meant more than evolving... she really has changed. She doesn't necessarily want to be the same things she strived for back then. But no I don't understand your last point, if you could explain more. You mean to see her drop to something so raw and opposite? So aren't you admitting it's the change that feels you with sadness rather than the performance itself? You put your expectations on Gaga and were disappointed?

People keep saying what a great artistic statement it was, but look how DIVISIVE this has been in her OWN FANBASE.

To me, that's not a good statement at all. Where is the integrity of this art?

the fact that it has made the fanbase so dividided is EXACTLY what makes it great art.

Also, why is everyone so hung up on the puke part?! are these fans who just joined the fan base and didn't see the monster ball or....? :toofunga:

Then we fundamentally disagree about what "great art" is.

I suppose Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are great artists too then.

By the way, I'm not even mad about the puking. I didn't even find it shocking.

It's not about disagreeing with you, I'm simply saying that art is open to interpretation.

The puke comment was a general statement.

like, it just makes me sad that she's changing into someone else, but I'm probably gonna get used to it soon. I just feel like yesterday she wasn't being herself, or maybe yesterday she WAS being herself, and she hasn't been being herself her entire career

Or maybe she's just a complex person with different interests and different sides, who is capable of change, and she has always been herself?

Well, there a difference between a complex person and a person with multiple personalities. but well maybe ur right maybe she's a complex person. All i know is that i don't like that side of her very much. The only thing i liked about her performance was her Speech+gypsy.
