Venus Hype Thread

The production is meant to be overwhelming, she's making a statement with that, if you listen to the instrumental it doesn't sound the same because the song has a lot of backing vocals. What does the "clean" production represent in GUY? It's just background music and it doesn't mean anything at all. And yes, it is better, it's innovative and it's pushing the limits. GUY is another dance song about s-x.

So by your logic a song is basic if the production doesn't directly tie in with the subject matter to form a greater statement? It's easy to do that with a song about d--gs because d--gs alter your senses, so you can just whip up a loud, overwhelming production and voila you've made a song about d--gs.

But by this logic every other song on the album would be basic as well. What does the production represent in Venus? It's just another dance song too

In fact, Venus is my favourite song on ARTPOP, however, it's a song specifically for LM, I mean, we love those Take me to your planet, take me to your planet... or those Venus!, but do you think that would do well on charts? I mean, Gaga is not the one from TF and TFM, she's not that extremely successful woman that could release anything, and with GUY as a single she could do better than with Venus... You know, I wouldn't mind a video for Venus, but not really excited about it as a single...

WHY THE **** DO YOU "FANS" CARE SO ****ING MUCH ABOUT ****ING CHARTS?!!

FOR ****S SAKE. this is seriously pissing me the **** off. the only people who should be concerned with chart success s Gaga, her team including managers and producers, and her record label Interscope. Just look at what you just said. As a fan why wouldn't you want your favorite song to be a single? You're not her manager, that money or success wouldn't even be relevant to you. Its so annoying constantly seeing "well x is my favorite song, but I want y as a single because it will do better on the charts".  its as if all you guys ever care about is chart success and its so annoying that you need charts or hit records to deem a song amazing, successful or what not. I'm just so over this forum and these little ****ing inexperienced managers saying b.s. that most have no clue about.

im sorry to freak out on you but I'm just venting.

I love MJH but the song is only about doing d--gs while G.U.Y. actually makes a feminist statement.

oh wow because of course we need another song about the feminism movement

Yes! Build up the hype. I want to see this site crumble to pieces when the 3rd single is finally revealed :lana:

How do you know that? Did she told you that she was trying to make some statement? Do you know what a statement is? You say that Mary Jane Holland's music makes a statement but you are not explaining your theory. Madeon did a great job in ARTPOP but he produces in FL Studio and it's obvious when a producer uses this software because of the echo noise.

I can't say that G.U.Y. is better at all, but neither I can say that of MJH.

and G.U.Y is not another s-x song, if you think it's just another s-x song you totally  missed the point of the song.

Because it's obvious. She's one of the highest-paid musician nowadays, do you think that if she didn't want it to sound like that she wouldn't do anything about it? Why doesn't Gypsy sound the same if it was also produced by Madeon? It is obvious that she wanted it to sound like that. It makes you feel like you've been smoking pot for hours (i can tell, been there) You start to see things different and you start to hear everything so weird and messed up.

Veus is very spacey and it sounds very futuristic. And, for example, Paparazzi sounds very dark and it also ties in with the concept. And I think that GUY is basic not only for that reason, but because the chorus is weak and the lyrics are bad.

EDIT:

Aura: She said in the track-by-track commentary that the sound represents her mind, because it's very complex and the lyrics are a statemente about her as a popstar.

Sexxx Dreams is very quiet and s-xy, fits the song perfectly.

Jewels & Drugs is about two worlds coming together, that's why there ate a lot of different beats throughout the song... and I could go on and on.

Well, that's called intention, not statement.

Not everybody can relate to MJH and feel it as the same as you can't do it with G.U.Y.

If that's what you call an statement, you should consider that Timber makes a statement about the country life.

Dean Winchester

You guys do know that earlier today, @Slaveblonde tweeted something about them going to the castle today.  And then tweeted "VENUS".   :excited2: I saw the tweets with my own two eyes.  But now he/she has deleted all of his tweets concerning GUY and Venus.  So....

Who cares what it ends up being, we get what we get. It was confirmed that she was going to make the Venus video with Ruth, but it was never confirmed that it was ever actually made. Gaga said Venus would still get its video, but we've been told things like that before. Wait for direct Gaga/Haus announcements before killing each other over who is right and who is wrong.

I'll explain you why I care bout charts but in a more respectful way than you did. If Gaga has a succesful single, more people know it. That's first. But that's not all, if she has success, the record give her more freedom and there aren't more cancelled videos or singles, more generic first singles...
