Oh

I hope is a minifilm tbh

Oh well... at least, she's working on something :p

Radio is very picky about dance songs right now. The only really dancey songs on the radio right now are Timber, Talk Dirty, and Stay the Night. There are some more upbeat songs like Burn & The Monster, but they aren't like GUY.

Ever since Born This Way's release, people have been asking for Gaga to return to TF/M sound. G.U.Y. is as close to that sound has she has gotten for a while. I think it will be a nice refresher for radio. It has a catchy chorus and a nice beat. All she needs is promo, radio support, and a video released at ideal times and she has a Top 10.

It's the best song on the album.

It's classic Gaga. It sounds like her, it has lyrics like she write, it's weird but in a hot way.

The music video will be amazing if it's really shot at the Hearst castle.

It has been performed or promoted AT ALL. It's essentially a completely fresh and unheard song.

The word play is amazing :legend:

The chorus goes on for days but doesn't feel like a chore to listen to (ie. Poker Face and Telephone)

It means that another song might have a chance at single status if it succeeds. (MANiCURE :) )

Gypsy could never accomplish what G.U.Y could.

God I hope it does good. God I hope this is actually the song she is releasing. O lord in heaven, let God.ga descend from the heavens into our mortal realm for a bout of slayage.

It reminds me of Poker Face fused with Bad Romance (with an ARTPOP twist). The sledgehammer beats really recall RedOne's thumping production of Judas and Bad Romance with short, punchy spoken verses reminiscent of Poker Face. And like every good Gaga song there is an infectious, airy chorus that just soars with a great release from the tension of the verses. Also, Gaga's new take on s-xuality (more than just boy-girl infatuation) was a staple of her early hits. Poker Face and Bad Romance both offer smart, witty takes on romance, talking about s-xual dissatisfaction and self-destruction. G.U.Y. is another new take on s-x themes for pop music with quotable lyrics that beg closer consideration. She is back to being a masterful cutting edge pop chanteuse who mixes hard beats, infectious choruses, and clever feminist lyrics (possibly post-, or third wave, feminist here). Hail the queen. Bitch is back. At least they will talk. Applause and Do What U Want did not need to be discussed really. They were ear worms but evident ones. This single will raise all kinds of questions in true Gaga fashion.

Not my favorite song. It's good, with interesting lyrics and a great theme, but the instrumental is a little underwhelming. That said, I think it'd be a great single on the standards that it's pretty catchy, and that it's not that hard to swallow.

Plus, I like the whole idea it conveys of feminine s-xual confidence and power, even if not in the role of traditional power. Pretty s-x positive message that I wouldn't mind the world hearing, imo.

"Please retweet" will become iconic

To be honest, I don't like that line  I don't know why.

Buuuut, I really like the ending. "NEIN ZEDD" is pretty badass, best part of the song imo.

3 points in and ready for more

It was at the bottom of my choices for singles, but I'm just happy we're finally seeing something happen.

I like G.U.Y., I think it's one of the strongest tracks on the record, so it definitely deserves to get single status.

However... as exciting as the pre-chorus may be, I feel like the chorus is quite bland and underwhelming (and I have the same feeling from the instrumental: everything sounds perfect... until the chorus kicks in). Too bad, 'cause an orgasmic chorus would have fitted the concept :ohwell:

Now feel free to drag me for having an opinion :classy:

this 110%

I think it will slay tbh. I used to feel meh about this song but now I absolutely love it and I believe the GP will love it too. And if the MV is as amazing as people think it'll be, then it'll slay even more.

GUY will do well. The pre-chorus and bridge are incredible. The chorus is simple and memorable. It fits for a wide audience of straights and gays. It's about s-xual confidence and raising self esteem. I don't have to be on top to know I'm worth it because I'm strong enough to know the truth. . . Pretty *ucking good for me. That makes me feel real fine
