LOL age doesn't matter until you make it so.

lol, this topic. She's an established pop star, not trying to break into the modeling world. Fergie and Gwen's chart domination happened when they were in their thirties, Nelly Furtado was 28/29 during the Loose era. Kylie was in her thirties when she finally broke in the U.S. with "Can't Get You Out of My Head." I'm sure you know the deal with J.Lo. If you want to go old school, Debbie Harry was 30 when she first formed Blondie. So, the pop music scene isn't as ageist as they would have you believe. As long as the material resonates people don't really care.

You really only see the "she's too old for that" bs when someone is over 40 and goes for a ~s-xy image or wears something too revealing (Madonna for instance), or if they're over 30 act too immature/twee (see: Avril and her Hot Topic look; Mariah Carey and her butterfly/Hello Kitty obsession). Gaga has never been one to rely on s-x appeal, and she's not twee, so I think she'll escape some of that in the years to come.

Who is much younger than Gaga? Only Miley and Lorde? :laughga:

Katy Perry is exactly the same age, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Dear god this is the an astonishingly ignorant post....did u really just say that 35 is middle-aged? Jesus, sweetie, grow up.

Late 40s into 50s is middle aged....Madonna is middle aged. And some of the biggest years of her career were in here 30s.

Beyonce is 32! She is having the biggest year of her career yet.

The idea that pop stars simply age out is pretty s-xist, and has nothing to do with being able to connect to listeners, and everything to do with s-x appeal, which Gaga is not exactly known for.

If Gaga were only famous for her looks (which she most certainly is not) and having a hot body, then age may have played a factor in her career.

But she is not a supermodel (although lets not forget Tyra Banks is 40), and her longevity depends not on how she looks and her age, but rather on her voice, her songwriting ability, her artistry, etc.  Those things all tend to improve with age, not diminish. Pay attention to the biggest names in songwriting and production today, and most are in their late 30s, early 40s....

This is one of those insanely stupid perceptions in pop music that people latch onto when they're young, until they get a little bit older and realize how ****ing narrow minded it is. The world doesn't end when you're 30 or 35...

If Gaga is not on the pop charts but is in a Tony award winning play at 35, will she still be "relevant?"

Me reading the OP of this thread: madonnarunflop.gif

30 is

NOT old, please stop making it seem like it's the end of the world because she's going to reach her 30's soon.  :Chica:

Cher was 43 when she released If I Could Turn Back Time and 52 when she released her very successful Believe.

Her comebackalbum Closer to the Truth (released at her current age 67) reached #3 in the US.

So no, if you have the talent age doesn't mean a sh.t.
