Sheisse would have been bleeped out since its technichally a swear word no?

They could've done a radio edit with another word like they sometimes do. "Without the shyness, yeah" haha

Anyway, people saying 1 single before the album clearly don't know how sales strategies work. If people already have the single on the album, they're not likely to buy the single - you're forcing yourself to lose out on 2nd single sales! Even Judas got sales that it wouldn't have if it'd been released after the album!

The only reason Judas bombed was because Interscope clearly thought "This sounds like BR, it'll smash!" but they're not quite in touch with public opinion, so it bombed.

If it had been ANY other single released in that spot, then it would've done well - especially MTN or Scheisse.. or TEOG.. or HML... or GH... or You & I... or Electric Chapel... or jesus, anything! Judas is a poor single choice, so it's not the release strategy that killed it, it was the song itself.

BTW/MTN/Album/Scheisse/TEOG would've been the best strategy with You & I added on as a promo single somewhere. Perfecto.

For this album, the same stategy should be adopted - but without a cannibal promo single.

The first single has something to prove, so should probably be the 2nd best on the album, then the 2nd single will push the album more, so it needs to be something close to the best on the album, then the album drop, then the one after the release needs to be as commercial as possible to keep the sales as the album is out.

It's not rocket sceience, but the release date of the album doesn't need to be close to the first single release date, if anything it needs to be further away so it doesn't suffocate all following single releases.

I do too, alot. It clearly must be the radio favorite. I still hear Alejandro alot too, favorite on radio from that album?

And Just Dance from the other.

Just Dance, Poker Face, Paparazzi and Eh Eh from TF.

All singles from TFM.

All singles from BTW (especially Judas :smh: ) with Scheisse, Americano, Hair, Black Jesus, and Government Hooker.

I guess the radios from my place really like Born This Way :lolgaga:

Edit: I hear Va Va Voom a lot from them too :legend:

"I don't care how many" .... "(But) No more than 2."

:rip:

Haha, yeah, I was aware of that when I posted it. I assumed people would interpret it as "I don't care how many as long is it's no more than two" but I guess not. :toofloppy:

I just want to say I will be seeing Zedd (along with Guetta) at a DJ Festival on Sept 1st and 2nd, do you think maybe he will like play or mix something, instrumental wise, from Gaga?

I saw him tonight at the Yost Theater, he didn't play anything I was familiar with [gaga wise]

I understand everything you're saying but overall, it's really about the content, not the strategy. Hence why TFM did so well and Telephone peaked at number 1 without the second single strategy. Better material will make way more of a difference so to me, it really doesn't matter if she releases 1 or 2 singles before the album. If I had to choose, then she would release just 1 single before the record, but that's just my personal preference. I don't want the album released in pieces. I want to be able to enjoy the full product when the album is officially released (discarding the 1st single obviously). I mean we already had like what, 5 songs before BTW leaked? It kinda ruined the album release for me.

I rarely hear Gaga on the radios here in Melbourne, but then again I never listen to the radio!

BUT STAY ON TOPIC!!!!! :D ARTPOP the album, the single, the music....keep talking. If she's reading this, our desperation, our blood sweat and tears, our sheer panic might convince her to leak it.

I don't ever listen to much radio except for when Im in the car with my Dad or something, but I mostly hear Just Dance, Edge of Glory and Alejandro. Actually I hear Alejandro quite a lot in the summer. It's funny though, it makes you wander, in 30 years, what singles people will have the most memories of.

From the snippet, I think it sounds a bit... Japanese influenced.. I don't know, that's just what I think. IMO. IMHO.

I hope we get a song on there like "Fever". That song could bring a stadium alive, really. I wish she hadn't let Adam Lambert have it :( Her version kills.

So, I would like her to take a more relaxed approach this time around. I think it'll be a more commercial album so she won't need to over-promote to get the attention for it, it will do some of its own promotion...

Single #1: September

Video: 3 weeks after

Promo: Very little, perhaps one awards show and 2 TV shows. Save it for when it's needed. Some international promo is required.

Single #2: January

Video: 1 week after

Promo: Do the rounds, nothing HUGE, but something bold. 2 chat show performances, one awards show, same as before. Maybe perform at Radio 1's live lounge, too, and do a recorded performance for a UK tv show and a German TV show.

Album release: March

Promo: Born This Way Ball TV special, Awards show medley, chat show medley (album tracks only, no planned singles),

Single #3: May

Video: Immediate

Promo: Hustle it. Blitz american TV shows, awards shows, whatever. Just get it done. Perform variations - acoustic, remix, orchestral etc etc.

Single #4: September
