Cupid 760
Hope not. But the trend since 2012 isn't promising, especially among female breakthrough acts. 2012 - Carly Rae Jepsen, Call Me Maybe, 9 weeks at #1(+ poor album sales) 2013 - Lorde, Royals, 9 weeks at #1 (+ great album sales) 2014 - Meghan Trainor, All About That Bass, 7 weeks at #1 (album sales yet to be determined, but I'm leaning towards below average due to the current state of overall album Carly Rae was ever a serious breakthrough act. She had a popular novelty song with a music video that went viral. Just like gangam style, no one expected her to have any more hits. Lorde had another top 10 hit after royal, her album is selling great, her promo tour is doing just fine, she won two Grammys and she got the honorable job of curating the hunger games soundtrack so I don't really see how that is not promising. There's more to careers than scoring #1 singles.
SomethingMore 1,701
She'll probably pass Nicole Shhdshkfhgkhs, which is at #15. & Maroon 5, which has fallen 12-14. oh by the way, the #15 album sold 3.2k so far. So C2C is around the same. Nicole released an album? I just checked and her 2nd single reached only #90 in the UK No wonder she is flopping. ------------- Back on topic : I guess she could sell up to 5,000 this week in the UK and that's amazing considering it debuted with 10,

I completly agree with you Also, Carly's album sold more than 350,000 copies in the Japan and that's more than all Katy Perry's albums combined, so we can't say she flopped WW
