I guess I like things that lean into the folk/americana/ heartland rock side but it’s not like mainstream country.

Love me some Orville Peck. I think the Civil Wars are fantastic, and some of the more country-esque things from The Killers like on “Pressure Machine” are amazing.  I also like artists like Jamie Bower who market his music as “country music for sad goths.” 

Also Sinner’s Prayer is one of my favs on Joanne

I love country, but avoid modern/current country music for the most part because its heavily MAGA now. 

Its hard to dodge the ****ers.

That classic country singing style doesn’t really appeal to me. I do like some songs, though! 

In terms of genre I much prefer Americana/indie folk.

Kacey Musgraves and Zach Bryan are the only country artists I legit listen to on the reg. I do like a few other songs form others here and there, but not as much. Country music in generally gives me the ick lol

I love country music, but specific variations. I love the old fashioned story telling of vintage country, like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. But I also love the current ladies, Miranda Lambert, Kacey, Carrie (or I used to), Faith Hill, etc… I’ve never been able to get into most of the tractor/beer drinking style of country music
