An Uptown Funk remix will be released next week.

Just heard the Trinidad James remix for urban and rhythmic radio. I like it more than the original. Very 90's. Kinda reminds me of Vanilla Ice, but not in a bad way.

Week 10: Best-selling albums in 2015 so far, as of March 11, 2015:

Albums selling 500,000 units or more this year so far = 2
Albums selling 400,000 units or more this year so far = 6

UF is actually one of the least promoted monster hits of the decade. It was going to spend the next 3 weeks at least at #1 with or without remix.

I doubt it has sold that much tbh... It was a huge hit but 17 million sounds like too much.

@Bloody

It's from Interscope / Schoolboy Records through an official press release, so I'm going with it, the same way I'm going with every worldwide record sale reported/promoted by the labels themselves. But yeah, I understand your uncertainty, given labels (or the entertainment business in general) are notorious for resorting to brand imaging over reality.

Until there's no Nielsen Music equivalent in a worldwide scale (i.e. an independent reputable system that tracks actual sales and has a direct contact to music retailers across every country), the sales provided by the labels will solely remain official since they're currently the only ones with direct access to these retailers selling music and their info are the ones used and reported by IFPI, which is the official source and representative of the global music industry (i.e. the one being recognized by the mainstream media which have the access and even influence to the greater majority of music consumers). It'd take a lot of time and money to come up with a better alternative to the current system of music sales tracking and reporting, so I guess that's the main reason why we still don't have one yet.

I know, but releasing a remix is giving me the impression that they're trying to extend the #1 reign even longer. If it catches on in the clubs then the weekend effect won't die anytime soon.
