I was expecting such a dark and twisted rap song from the title, but once I heard Luke was involved I knew that idea was gone. I don't understand why she put out such good urban songs and talked about returning to her old mixtape style and then put this out as the single? Disappointing. Her rap verses are TERRIBLE (she tends to rhyme the same word multiple times or just go with the n word) and the hook is catchy but slow and repetitive. I like it, it reminds me of Freedom, (which is one of my favorite Nicki tracks) Freedom is a lot better than this. The energy sort of stays flat through the whole song and the song never really goes anywhere. It really does have a great chance of being a hit. I don't know. I'm sort of neutral. I do love that her versatility with her voice. She's the rapper and then she's also like the featured singer for the chorus. It sounds like two different people and it's so cool that she can do that. I agree with this. I've always loved nicki but my first reaction to hearing the song was that it seemed like a step back... like she's done it already. It's well made, but I don't like it, which is a shame, because a song titled Pills n Potions could have been a really awesome "go hard" club banger/rap track. Wasted lyrics/idea imo.
