Future seasons Executive producer David Alpert said in 2014, that the original comics have given them enough ideas for Rick Grimes and company over the next seven years. "I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what Season 10 is gonna be", Alpert said. "We know where seasons 11 and 12 [will be]... we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we're lucky enough to get there." The show creators are basically following the rule of "music not the bling", in the TV show world It's more like "quality not the bling". This sounds so dumb, but they chose seven episodes for Season 7 and six for Season 8. If they wanted more money, and the show running longer, they would have made ten episodes for Season 7 and ten episodes for Season 8. They know the ending, and I'm so excited. But, I am scared of Season 8 and how the show will end. George R. R. Martin said a "bittersweet" ending will happen. So, I really hope nothing goes bad, or it will be a total waste. Not a happy ending, but not... SPOILERS BELOW IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED GAME OF THRONES Spoiler I don't want to picture The Night's King sitting on the Iron Throne. Remember Dany's visions in Season 2? She saw the Iron Throne room covered with snow, and no one is sitting on it. A "bittersweet ending" to me is Dany sacrificing her life to defeat The White Walkers. I just hope nothing gets in the way when she goes to Westeros, and even if a war in the sea happens; Bran's visions showed us that a dragon's shadow was flying on top of King's Landing. Guest Posted August 1, 2016 Share Posted August 1, 2016 They might get rid of a lot of the main cast after season 8 (because many actors want to move on after doing a TV show for so long) and fast forward to the future/go back in time, but to completely end the franchise would be a terrible idea business-wise. Game of Thrones is, without a doubt, the most successful show right now almost everywhere. To not milk the success would be a waste of millions of dollars. Miker 5,683 Posted August 1, 2016 Share Posted August 1, 2016 All good things must end. As much as I Iike this series, I don't need to watch it to the point of exhaustion. Eight seasons would be adequate for me. As I have found with other shows that are over-extended, the plots become unreasonable and there is a loss of interest.
