I said it has bigger potential to turn into a monster smash than Gypsy has. I want Venus because the song is also huge and it's one of the best songs on the album, so? well that's clearly not true. Venus has everything that Gypsy has besides the GP Friendliness. Now tell me how is that a + for Venus but a - for Gypsy ? Can you ? MTN wouldn't have done any better is it was 2nd single and shoved in our faces on every big show like Uncle. Both were big noisy dance songs that weren't catchy or appealing enough. Especially MTN. Worst Gaga single ever! I believe Judas is a clear smash... If It just had different theme / lyrics of course.. I can agree about MTN ( I love it ) but I never rooted for it to be a single ... Venus has outstanding production. Just because Gypsy is a KP sure hit like doesn't mean it'll be one. Stop acting like you can actually predict its charting, no one can. Same goes for Venus. Most people believe GUY/Gypsy for the best songs on the album, go on ATRL, go on Tumblr and u'll see.. wow atrl wow tumblr those are the people who consider Lana a good vocalist and PRISM a better album than ARTPOP I said that It's not true that people think Venus is the best song... People think GUY and Gypsy are the best songs on the album... Venus is not even 3rd .. I don't think anyone that isn't a Gaga fan would find Venus lyrics appealing at all. Gaga needs to sell ALBUMS. Venus may be a fan favorite, but to the people that support the song just stop and think from an outsider's perspective. If you weren't a Gaga fan and just a causal listener, would a song would lyrics like " Uranus, don't you know my ass is famous", get you buy the album? Jewelz and Drugs does not have a lot of smash potential on urban. You might think it could be a crossover hit, but it's just not a good enough song for that. All the monsters I know have ranked it in their bottom lowest 3. Also, my straight, male, urban-listening friends do not think it's a good song. I mean come on people! The lyrics are cliche and almost cringe worthy! The chorus is also corny ("Don't want your jewels/ just want your d--gs"), and thus would not appeal to GP/pop radio. I know it might seem that because it's so "out there" that it oculd smash, but that is not what Gaga needs right now, and JnD is probably the least likely song from ARTPOP to improve Gaga's image. 2. Gypsy is a much better single choice than Venus. Yeah, Venus is different and has a cool sound. Guess what? This "new sound" of Venus isn't what the GP is looking for in terms of a new sound. In case people didn't notice, the cool "new sound" is a mix of indie sound with pop/dance music. Look at the songs on the charts right now. The GP is loving "wake me up". They would love Gypsy. It's the perfect pop/dance/indie mix that is not only safer for radio, but just a better bet for Gaga's career. Oh, and if any of you think Gypsy doesn't have smash potential, you need to get your ears checked. No hate to anyone who thinks differently. Your entitled to your opinion, as am I.
