Mariano 958
No, it really isn't as long as we're not talking about a viral video. and it's not GP's fault they don't remember the performances, let's not U're not right baby, you are lucky that I love u A video doesn't have to be viral to help a song. It doesn't even have to have 40M views ... It can be a simple pretty video and when people check for the song watch the video and like It they can buy the song. It was certain that the song would've gone top 10 with the video and banners help only the first week anyway..
SadJudasPanda 0
Are you kidding? Colorado stans for her. I hear Applause all the time it's always being played. And DWUW has begun getting the same treatment the last few weeks which means they've finally moved on to it and that's great! Applause, DWUW, Bad Romance, Just Dance, Poker Face are played daily here where I am in Colorado. And occasionally Paparazzi, Edge of Glory and even Alejandro are played from time to time. Telephone once in a blue moon :worship2: What radio station(s) is this and why am I such a flop? The only gaga songs I've heard on radio this year are the one's I listed. I have yet to hear Applause or DWUW.
craig 680
http://kworb.net/airadio/ So Roar was biggest gainer, and Ho Hey 2nd biggest. End of year countdowns are taking over.

Mariano 958
It doesn't always work that way. Depends on the performance, the video and the song. If DWUW was the first single and there were still banners, there would be a much better chance for a strong impact. Videos now rarely have a big impact on songs. Say Something got more from its performances than it did from its video. The same for Ellie's Burn. The Uncle video was a bust. A video CAN have a big affect, but it can also do basically very little. Same thing for a performance on an awards show, SNL or The Voice. Sometimes the performances = big spikes and sometimes they hardly do anything. There are no absolutes here. Ellie's burn has 100M views and people watch the video, just because the song was boosted from a performance doesn't mean It would've kept being steady without a video ... Mariano 958
Everytime I say something about the video, people attack me with "Only If It's viral" like WTF guys ? R u serious ? There are million of videos and how many of them are viral ? I am not talkin about a WB kind of effect. Videos are really Important, u don't have to be an expert to know that ... Luc 4,775
Does the Netherlands actually certify? I was talking about Norway tho Yes, but it's very hard for foreign artists to get a certification here, especially with singles. I believe that 10k single sales = gold, which is a very hard task that means #1 on iTunes for 30 days

It was a WW hit way before it made it to the US, which explains the view count. The song didn't jump into the consciousness of the general listening public in the US, until the performance on The Voice. That performance, not the video, had the most impact on Burn thusfar in the US.

And I said that the performance boosted the song, but It wouldn't have kept being steady without the video (probably) and the radio support of course ...
