Harry 26,836
Wrecking Ball though. Wrecking Ball sounds like an instant hit as well though. Big, catchy chorus, relatable lyrics, simple production... And it got radio support too.
Mariano 958
Wrecking Ball though. Bad Romance tho. Telephone tho. Gangnam Style tho. Harlem Shake tho. I am pretty sure you get what I mean.
Gypsy Life 118,907
DWUW currently #22 combined. With the next update, it'll be #21 combined, just above Applause.
Kermit the frog 1,921
Gypsy will slay. End of. So will Venus. It's the lead single that never happened, it deserves to have its time to shine.
Paper Gangsta 6,693
That video of Dope was promoted with ads on YouTube though. Unless they do that with Venus, then that isn't a strong enough reason for Venus to be a single. And also the only thing you're arguing is the POTENTIAL of the video - there's nothing to say it will actually be really good just because the song is pretty elaborate and theatrical. Also streaming doesn't translate as well into sales, and airplay is a more reliable and consistent source of promotion that feeds into sales better. Just like Dope. You said it yourself. I would rather her get a hit with decent sales than be high on Hot 100 for a while and considered a joke like Harlem Shake. Doesn't matter how it gained views, 15 m isnt that much for whoe week and it still managed to push it in top 10. For example Applause had 25m in first week And honestly looks like streaming is our only chance this era, if DWUW couldnt smash in sales i dont see why anybody thinks Gypsy will. Btw. If it reaches top10 on BB radio will start play it more
AURA 2,890
DWUW is a bigger hit than Dope tho I'd rather have a number 2 song as big as BR than a number 1 song as big as Teenage Dream I'd rather have a top 20 hit as big as DWUW than top 10 hit as big as Dope. Dope was only a promotional single tho DWUW is an official single DWUW is also a collab. DWUW also has big radio airplay, AMAS, SNL, The Voice. MonsterOfSpain 8,318
Stop the Drama, Start the Music Doesn't matter how it gained views, 15 m isnt that much for whoe week and it still managed to push it in top 10. asongforxx 0
WaitT I never knew 10 million people lived in Greece and 60 million in Italy And 47 million in Spain I thought it was way less, now I'm actually surprised at how high my country is in the Top 10 music markets. so buying music is 4x more common than in Italy Not you shading my country Actually it's true, we are 60 million people and yet we buy less music than many other countries. Australia has 1/3 of our population and their certifications are higher than ours
